Hi
Now on third loaf - because one has been eaten and I gave the second to my mum when she came over today!!!! I thought the first loaf was ok, a little bit heavy, don't think I am that keen on quite so much milk as it suggests in the manual! Made a wholewheat loaf for my mum so shall get a report on that later and currently have a french bread one in the BM. Now waiting to work my way through all the recipes :T :rotfl:Make £5 a day challenge - April

Well I got one today from my local store, £24.99. I will get ingredients now on Monday as it was mad in the store today and I couldn't be bothered to fight through all the people. Nearly all the shelves were empty!!! Any hoo I just hope I use it and it dosent end up in a cupboard as OH suspects.Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0

got mine delivered today and made a french loaf, using recipe in instructions. Have to say I was very disappointed in it. It was VERY spongy and the top wasn't at all crusty, although the bottom was so crusty you could hardly cut it. Will try again tomorrow. I used Dove's Farm yeast - is this okay to use?Jane

I have now made several different loaves in my Tesco BM and all of them have come out with the bottom half of the loaf extremely well done with a much too thick crust which is impossible to get the knife through, whilst the top is all spongy and looks like it isn't cooked properly. The loaf texture is different on the top and bottom too - bottom very dense and top all holes and airy. I am going to take it back to Tescos tomorrow.Jane

what setting did you cook them on? i tried one on a quick setting and they came out like that- apparently for the quick one you need to add baking powder
apart from that i cant think of anything else2011- new year, new start.

Sounds like you got a dodgy one recovering spendaholic
I've made about 5 loaves in mine and they have all been fine, taking a little bit of getting used to and getting the measures right . Generally pleased with it though:D

I've read lots of your posts here on BM and when I saw the Tesco ones on sale for £25 I took the plunge.
I cheated a little as I'm not familiar with flours, yeasts etc so I purchased the flour which contains everything already mixed up (tesco crusty wholemeal).
Just added the water and powder and off it went - the recipies in the manual details ingredients to make 700lb loaves.
After 3 hours and 40 minutes I was gobsmaked  For my first attempt it turned out brilliant :T I surprised myself as I was convinced that it would probably go wrong for my first attempt but a lovely wholemeal loaf came out at 10pm last night - my husband tried the first slice and said it was lovely
I know I've read previously that it doesn't have a nut dispenser but it bleeps at you (after about 40 mins) to let you know that you can add other ingredients at that time.
My only query is that the recipies are all for 700lb loaves and it says that if I want to make 900lb loaves then I just need to increase the quantities - but that's very vagueCan anyone point me in the direction for 900lb loaf ingredient quantities?
