I've thought about that too, not sure when the time is that it's finished kneading though?
I put mine on delay last night and got up this morning to my best loaf yet! The hole in the bottom isn't that big at all, and the top crust was nice and smooth instead of a bit knobbly like the first one. Not sure why as I did them both the same way. I wonder if it's because the ingredients had been sat for 7 hours before they started to bake?Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

Could be, I have a Panasonic, which sits & waits for ingredient & room temperature stabilisation
So I guess yours sitting overnight allowed all the ingredients to reach room temperture?Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I think that must be it - I've just had a couple of slices for a sandwich and the bread is so much softer than yesterday! Why oh why did I not buy one of these before! (Mind you, wouldn't have got the £15 off then!)Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

hya all, well I made the bun dough for attempted yum yum type thingies, tried to twist them into (got about 12) the yum yum shape and baked the first batch, disaster !!!! tho the dog liked them
Put the next lot in, and only baked them for 15 mins......looking ok so far, made up some icing let the yum yum type thingies cool and then fully coated them with the icing........YUM YUM!!!!!
OH and DS scoffed the 6 and I had a wee one with coffee later on. I was well please.....I wouldnt say they were totally like the ones you get in the shops but definitely a very good substitute.
I've got 2 pizza bases in the freezer, and one with topping on in the fridge........though found it kinda awkward trying to get them in the freezer without them folding over, so I've got them on 2 large round plates, any ideas on how to freeze them so they keep their shape, though my HM pizzas are nowhere near the shape they're sposed to be!!!!
I've now got a white basic with porridge oats in just now and am desperate to try the Brioche, thats next on th to do list!!!!cheerio hen0 -
Has anyone tried making wholemeal bread using Chappatti flour? I couldn't get any wholemeal bread flour at the supermarket today so made a white loaf instead. Then I remembered I had some chappatti flour so I am waiting for it to prove before sticking it in the oven. Have made the "Chappatti" loaf..... it's delish:jIt's light with a slight sweet nutty taste. It's weird because Chappatti flour is essentially a wholemeal stoneground flour but it does taste different. I will be making this one again."To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill" Sun Tzu0

This one sounds nice! Do you just put the porridge oats in with the flour? I think the banana bread recipe looks nice. Got a basic white in at the mo, going to get some honey from the shop and have a go at the banana one mmmmmm.........Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
Ive been thinking about the hole the paddle leaves... what do you think about removing the paddle from the machine after it has finished kneading.. Do you think this would work or not?
Also how would I know it had finished kneading without going by the time I guess after watching a previous bake
the "hole" never bothers me. Reminds me that the bread is homemade0 -

I have thought about freezing my pizza dough but thought about just freezing it as balls of dough instead of rolling it out - could this work?
Mine are they shape they're supposed to be either - mine rolled out to a sort of rectangle shape :rotfl: still tasted scrummy though!0 -

Works perfectly:D Did this the other week, made a big batch of sauce and froze it in individual portions too. Will probably have one of them tonight;)The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
