A box of about 130 glass petri dishes. I paid £5.51, spent about £5 in petrol to go collect them, and have already started selling them individually. 20 have gone so far, in three weeks, at £3.74 each. Should clear over £400 after fees. Now that's a nice little earner.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -

A new one here - at a Christmas Fair I bought 7 first edition Chalet School books in mint condition with dust jackets. 50p each or 3 for £1!!! So £2.50 and sold them for £250 - it is so exciting and such fun I just love rummaging about. I've had withdrawal symptoms this winter can't wait for the weather to get better so can go to the Boot Sales again.
Ercol chairs - reminds me of my parents house when I was a kid. Are they the wooden low down slopey ones?
They have a wooden frame and low down yes but upholstered in blue - very retro, comfy and 70's but not flowery or busy!! They look more Scandanavian style. Very expensive on Ercol website;)0 -
I went to a carboot on sunday and due to heavy rain it had been a real washout, due to this fact a lot of people had left early and literally dumped the contents of their tables on the ground and gone.
I saw a really nice pair of shoes and was bending down to look when the nearby storeholder came over and said to take what I want as the owner had alreadygone. Had another rummage and came home with 7 pairs of new or hardly worn fashion shoes completely free!
Yes I did feel a bit of a scavanger but they were a great find. Even better have looked on ebay and similar going for £10 + a pair so will keep a couple of pairs and may make a few quid of ebay too!)
Didnt rummage round in the other piles of stuff but I think anyone who has a vehicle and doesnt mind doing a few washes of stuff could have got a vans worth of stuff to sell themselves at another car boot.
Go late in the day or on a wet day for best abandoned items is my advice. Quite eco friendly too as the car boot owners literally took anything left and dumped it afterwards.£264.05 / £11,000 in 2011 :j
frugal living 2011 total spend £300 :mad:0
