Gorgeous pair of Ravel boots. Full length leather, lace up fronts.
"Worn indoors only, how about £3?" asks the stall holder. Quickly check the size underneath so she thinks I'm hesitating, "OK, £2.50 then."
    What a bargain!

Oh, and the Russell & Bromley wedge-heeled sandals, similar wear, but 50p!

However, we won't mention the lovely pointy knee-high suede boots with the kitten heel & zip up the back. Brand new and only £1.
Tried one on and quickly paid, dead chuffed, until I got home...
    Both right feet!!
How on earth did that happen?!
P.S. Did anyone buy a similar pair, only left feet, at Cheltenham car boot last year?!

Went charity shop trawling last week:D (hadn't been in ages and was getting withdrawal symptoms:rolleyes: ) Had decided to see whether I could find any fabric I liked to make DD2 some summer clothes - sort of 70s prints.

    Here's what I got:

Pink needlecord gypsy/western style tiered skirt in excellent condition for DD2 - 25p:j - and it has an adjustable waistband - hooray (she's a 'skinny minnie':rotfl: ) - this will do nicely for next autumn/winter.

Also for 25p - dark red summer top - shoestring straps and shirred elastic.

And then, I found a Brand New maxi skirt - still with tags- (from about 1972/3:rotfl:judging by the fact it says it's a size 16 and looks like a modern size 10 ) in a patchwork cotton print in oranges/browns/creams and deep ruffle hem - I reckon I can possibly get a skirt, top, shift dress, bandana, hairband (using the waistband), and have enough to trim a plain t-shirt........this was originally £8.25 - and was only £3.00 in the charity shop AND it was buy one get one free....so got DD1 a green floaty gypsy skirt so she didn't feel left out:o

ooh and did I mention the print also had cats in it....:j

Not a bad day at all;)

I just bought a ps2 dance mat on ebay for £2.40. Pretty good considering the same one retails for £20! :D

You sound like a bargain hunter like me. lol.

I love charity shops. A lot of my friends stick their noses up at them, but I think they are great places to find bargains and one-off items.

Loads of stuff! Can't even remember half of it, but here's some highlights ..

Two Franco Maria Ricci limited edition luxury books, for £15 each from a second-hand bookshop that really should have known better ... they're worth about £300 apiece :D

Similarly, a very rare Megadrive game, worth about £300-£400 that I picked up for a a bit under £5 ... from eBay!

Loads of other stuff - a box full of brand new Dreamcast games and Star Trek game soundtrack CDs(!?!) from an Oxfam that I bought for £2 each sold all for an average of £15 each.

A 5 volume set on the History of Broadcasting in the UK bought from Oxfam for £40 and sold on Amazon for £160 (to a university library!).
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...

Not the biggest bargain but my latest and most satisfying.

My microwave blew up on Saturday and I spent most of Saturday trawling the net and shops for a bargain replacement.

On Sunday I went to my local Boot Sale late and everybody was packing up as it was raining hard. I just happened to spot a couple putting a boxed microwave in their car. We got chatting and it was a Sanyo silver Microwave with grill still in box and celophane with manual. Unopened duplicate wedding gift (maybe maybenot but dont care). I know they retail for about £75. Anyway as raining and they were leaving offered a £10 and after a bit of haggling I got it for £10. Works great better than old one and just what we wanted!! Yippeeee:j
