I bought a china bowl at a bring and buy for 30p and it was by Dame Lucie Rie and I got £2675 for it!!!
But on the other hand my partners brother asked me to take some clothes to the charity shop - I took the wrong ones and it included his best Calvin Klein suit which was sooo expensive!
Oh and I bought a pair of Hobbs boots for £4.50 at a car boot and sold them for £87 on ebay!0 -

Nearly all Juicy Couture on ebay is FAKE0 -
I bought a recently recovered Ercol 3 piece suite for 99p off Ebay!!The seller didn't even mind - maybe he just won the lottery. Cost me £140 to get it couriered though.
I also got 2 Ercol pebble tables for £3 each in a charity shop!!
Am not selling any of them though cos we love our retro.;)0 -
A new one here - at a Christmas Fair I bought 7 first edition Chalet School books in mint condition with dust jackets. 50p each or 3 for £1!!! So £2.50 and sold them for £250 - it is so exciting and such fun I just love rummaging about. I've had withdrawal symptoms this winter can't wait for the weather to get better so can go to the Boot Sales again.
Ercol chairs - reminds me of my parents house when I was a kid. Are they the wooden low down slopey ones?0 -
Archos Gmini 200 MP3/Video/Photo player & after a little trickery, SNES and NES emulator, text viewer (i'm sure that got me at least an extra 5% on uni exams), calculator etc etc. ~£90 two years ago and I do believe it's just outlasted the brand new Sony Minidisc player it replaced after sony's typically cheap manufacturing bit me in the rear end. afaik it was the cheapest any had gone for on ebay for ages, half the price of a new one at the time, still cheaper than anything equivalent today and still functions just as well as anything else today (with the lack of wifi/web access the only downside).
I suppose you could also count the £10 home hub for which I personally engineered a hack the no one else had ever done to enable it to function as both a bridged dumb modem and VoIP sip device at the same time. but you'd have to know your tech to know why that's such a bargain. technically, it shouldn't even work, even with the hacks (nat traversal, or lack of, should kill the sip), but it just does. erm... yeah. i think that's all.
ohh and everything FON have ever sold me (or given me for free). but they're not really ebay related0 -
A pair of brand new tagged Jean Paul Gaultier designer jeans for £4 in a Birmingham charity shop and a Vivienne Westwood Gold label T shirt for £1.50 in the same shop a month later. I kept both and still wear them. I love charity shops you never know what treasure you will find. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0

I had a pair of Principles jeans from a charity shop for £2.50 which I don't thik had ever been worn. They looked just like new and still had a bit of original tag still on them. And in Principles, they were £39ish.
From eBay, I won a VERY rare record. It was Buy It Won and had only been listed for about 10 minutes when I bought it. I don't think the seller knew it's true value or they wouldn't have offered it at £3.50 (that's p&p inc.). It usually went for £20-45!0 -
I bought a little silk framed picture for 30p; woman who sold it to me said, "It isn't much cop love!". Got home and did some research and found one exactly the same sold for £180 recently. It isn't being sold though as the dh likes it.0
