Just an update from me, I have just posted my last sqs for OECS. I will update my sig now, then I am off out with OH to measure up for carpets for mom, we are moving her to sheltered housing when we get back from holiday,so at least she will be nearer to me.

Hi. I am in thr process of wrapping the squares to post. I still have some on the needles, Might have to make a patchwork blanket for my Mum. I'm finding it very relaxing to knit-and it keeps me away from the computer. Never followed a pattern before so don't know How I'm gonna make these hats/bonnets. Dya think the kids will mind wearing a few squares joined together!!!:p
Not sure what the writing thing is that I've seen mentioned-something about a book for smoky??? Anyone any ideas please-then I can post the squares and stuff all in one envelope.

Hi Tattycath - Lainey is putting all our messages together in one book to give to Smoky with her blanket. If you want to send a card or just a simple message on a sheet of paper, to Lainey, she will put it in the book.

Lainey - I have just finished a square for the Smokelets which I will post tomorrow! I'm going to start another one for HTA. I was about to do a recount and post the running totals but I'd rather wait until you have added it to your chart, if that's OK? We're so close to finishing that now is not the time to get the numbers wrong! I hope you don't mind doing a count later?

Just finished a square for the OEC so that is 5 for them and 5 for smoky and 1 on the needles now.

Just to say I have one more smokelet square on my hook. Then I shall have to bow out for a while as other events are starting to overtake. Less than 6 weeks to my wedding now and a house still to clear before then. School hoildays over soon as well. Will try to keep popping in now and then, but less time on my hands for a few weeks. Will post this square as soon as I have finished it. Good luck with new challenge. Will try to join in when I can.

hi all, I've been out all day so just done the update. WE'VE DONE IT!!!
you lot are fantastic, it's amazing what can be done when people have a common bond isn't it. This attitude could change the world!!I'm so proud to be a part of this and ceratinly intend to carry on knitting , be it hats , cardi's or blankets.and will carry on calling myself a wooligan. I'm going to email Lou at Loving Hands tonite, the patterns are so sweet it would be impossible not to want to knit them all!!

Thanks for the update, Lainey - I was tempted to do it but you have kept the running total much more efficiently than me!

Well done everyone! What an achievement in such a short time! Good luck to Lainey with the sewing up - it's a huge job and thanks so much for taking it on!

I'm wondering if perhaps Naomi has had her baby early because she hasn't posted on here or the Yahoo group for a couple of days. I do hope everything is OK. She had another five or six weeks to go before her due date.

I'm so glad people are joining the Loving Hands group - when you look at their website bear in mind that it has only been running for nine months so they have achieved a lot. Lou, the lady who runs it, is really friendly and is on standby to log in all the Wooligans. Don't forget that Loving Hands will supply wool and needles if necessary, which I'm sure will come in handy.

Well, I'm going to crochet a square for HTA tonight and then that will be me done; I shall choose a hat pattern and get on with that next plus I will always keep a 7" square on the go for OECS. It's great to be using up my stash of wool in this way. So many patterns, so little time!

Hi lainey, thanks for the update but I have done 7 for OECS now, and they were posted off this afternoon,
All of smokeys sqs have been sent to you so you should receive them soon.

I joined up to loving hands as well, using Pippa.s the same as here.
The patterns are really nice cant wait to get started.

Wont be for a couple of weeks though as we are off on holiday Thursday, oooh cant wait;)
