Kathy, ill certainly keep sending squares to naiomi for the charity blankets and have already put the loving hands and smoothie hats links in my favourites. when everyone decides what the next challenge is to be in here im up for it. i think its a great idea to put a number on the amount we knit so that we can alternate round the various good causes. but i think it will be nice to pop back to squares now and then. I will certainly be using my odds up on a few more of those regularly.
are we doing baby hats next or doing a vote and deciding on and amount of that item.
i also did 2 nine inch squares for the giant charity blanket that was also posted in here near the beginningSPC~12 ot 124

:hello: Hello fellow wooligans!
I can't believe we are nearly at the end of this challenge! I would love to continue with making some 7" squares for OEC and try some hats (never made them before) for loving hands.
Personally this has been a good thing for me, with cfs/me I often foolishly overdo things (did this on Friday:o ) and have spent most of the weekend on bed rest! but by the 2nd day I had my knitting needles and wool in hand and was at least feeling useful by knitting a couple of squares! (almost finished btw:D ) It has helped to stop the dreaded depression taking over, there are always folk in a worse position and it is such a lovely and positive thing we are doing here, you can't help but feel better just being a part of it:A
I am only 1" away from finishing a red square for OEC and halfway through a cat square in rose pink which would do for either!

It was like a receipt from the till. Maybe they don't do stamps anymore for OS parcels.
My post office do this too... but if you have a book of stamps and say you want to pay in stamps they let you stick them on instead to the right amount (or say so many stamps and then buy a 2p stamp as well to make it the correct postage).
get well soon pink, hugs

Well, I feel everything on here is revving up for the grand finale. It feels really exciting; if we were all together I could imagine fireworks, balloons and champagne corks being popped! It's such a shame we can't all be together for this, isn't it?

hiya ladies (and any men out there - Martyn - How is the knitting going?)
well, I have 4 finished sqaures and 1 half way done. They are all the same colour, a rusty red (which I think looks very autumnal). The plan is the best one to smokey's blanket and the rest to OECS blanket.
once I've finished this last square I'm going to start on lovinghands projects I think.
It is a shame that we can't all be together for the blanket finally, but perhaps in time we could organise a mid-point Wooligans meetIt would be lovely to meet you all in person
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hi all. (((Hugs))) to PINK and CATZ. I'm so glad that people are enjoying doing this. I think the hats are the next challenge because they will take little wool and be quick to knit up and great practice for those who have just learned to knit. I have had fantastic feedback from Lou who runs Loving Hands. She has said you are all more than welcome to join and, if you do, if you could fill in your details, she's ready to log you all in! She has been running Loving Hands for only nine months and has had mentions in a magazine and won two awards! The site is wonderful.
Whilst trawling through the net for charity knitting links I came across this site http://www.babydollhandknitdesigns.co.uk/ for knitting for premature babies and new borns and toddlers. Well, the patterns took my breath away. I dare you to look at the site and not be impressed! They are not free but are very reasonably priced and Claire, whose site it is, has said she will give us a discount if we want to order more than one! They can be downloaded as PDFs. The patterns almost made me want another baby!
Well, I'm going to finish my latest square and then I'll do another one for HTA.
See you all later.
