  • Sorry pippa, I've edited my last post to correct your totals, I think I got carried away coz we've got all the squares for Smokys blankets.lol!

Just wanted to say that if anyone would like to PM me a message for Smoky, I'll print it out in a nice font and then add it to the book.
I'm going to start putting Smoky's blanket together first, as I said I'll put one square from each wooligan in (all 32 of us) and I'll post pics in our Yahoo photo book as often as I can so that everyone is happy with the layout, please feel free to send me any suggestions.
I'd like to say that the squares I have received so far are all such high quality , I will really try my very best to do justice to all your hard work.
    lots of luv, Lainey.xxx

Lainey my last square is in red so is going to OECS so should read 5 for HTA and 5 for Smokey! the one on the needles will go into the same envelope for OECS, unless you are desperate for it for smokey. I just feel the colours are better for OECS.
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Thanks lainey, yes it is exciting isnt it, I cant wait to see it, I will have to be patient, unless I can get to a computer when I am away... I`ll give it a go;)

I put a note in with my last sqs for smokey, I would have printed something out, but my printer has run out of ink

The pic of the sqs looks good, so many different colours it will look beautiful when its done.

Apologies for the brevity of this but I'm feeling quite down at the moment and I'm struggling for words.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on the squares for Smokey's blanket. I'm very moved at the reaction I've personally had to the idea and if it means as much to Smokey and her LO's as it does to me, I couldn't ask for anything better.

    Thank you everyone.

Hi PENPEN - your penguin sounds great!

I am posting off my last square to Lainey today - a pink one for the girly Smokelet. I have also found three issues of 'Busy Needles' - published in 1979! - in my pile of knitting books and mags and one issue has loads of patterns for knitted squares and another has loads for crocheted ones. I only wish I had found them earlier, now. I'm doing an HTA square with a big crochet daisy in the middle and it's looking lovely. I'd love to have done some of those for Smokey. Still, I shall keep doing OECS squares; I want to try all the patterns I've found.

MARTYN - I so hope life turns around for you soon; I'm so sorry you feel down. Please remember that your idea of a blanket for Smoky has made a real difference to all of us on this thread; we've really enjoyed making the squares and it has become very special to us all. It will bring such comfort to her and I'm sure will make life just a little more bearable. So, look what you have achieved and remember that you had the idea! Keep posting, however short your posts - we love hearing from you.

Well, I'd better go and take a photo of my latest square though heaven knows if I'll ever achieve the miracle of posting it on here!

Hi all - I've just updated my sig from the last running total from Lainey. We need 10 more now (8") for Naomi, one of which is on my crochet hook, almost finished! We are into the final countdown for HTA and then, well....words fail me when I think of what we have achieved!

I have emailed Naomi because we haven't heard from her for a few days; hope she is OK. She may even have had the baby early so, if you're reading this Naomi - hope all is well.

    Hi Martyn,
I am so sorry you feel down at the moment, but may I just say, I think you must be a lovely caring kind of guy, to think of doing something as special as Smokey`s blanket.

I know I can speak for the other wooligans when I say a big thank you, not only for the idea for smokeys blanket but for all the enjoyment it has given us .
