I've been shopping on Ebay for wool & today I'm going into Newbury to see what I can find in their charity shops. On Monday I'm trawling my local shops & on Thursday I'm going into Reading so will look in there, a week on Wednesday I'm going to Bracknell to meet a friend for lunch so will check out the charity shops there. I have £25 that I've made on Amazon, lets hope I can find some wool in some of the shops.

hi again all, WOW you lot have been knitting like crazy haven't you!!! I've caught up with all the posts I've missed in the last coule of days. You're all amazing and should be really proud of yourselves!!!! (((((group hugs))))
squishy, i've pm'd you my details.
jellybeans- your squares are fab, they're gonna look great! they look so warm in those colours. well done you!
choc. orange, hope the needles are working for you?
pigpen- please don't overdo things and exacerbate your RSI, just do what you can. that goes for anyone that has any kind of painful arthritisy/muscular condition.
1 square means as much as 10 squares, its the thought that counts.
mioliere- well done for the update on all the info in the first post, you're a real whizz at this aren't you !! It's a brilliant idea to put all the info in one place. oh, it wasn't my idea to do blankets for the LO's but I wish I had thought of it ,lol and I'm happy to carry on knitting squares/sewing blankets for the LO's after Smoky's is finished. ;-)
can I make a request please?? i've got a flexi-day off work the monday after next so could you wooligans start sending their squares so i can make a start with arranging & sewing??
i've just pulled back a greeny coloured square coz i don't think the colour will go with the ones everyone else seems to be using but I've got a ball of a lovely mingly blue/pink/red/gold stuff so I'm gonna start using that this weekend.
it looks like a cold one this weekend so ideal for staying & knitting!! might to some baking though,i'm determined to crack this breadmaking lark hahahha!!!
take care all, I'll check in later

About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
Thanks for the PM Lainey - I'll try and send the squares on to you this week. I think I need to check them again though - they seem to be different sizes
It may be that they're a little over the 8 inch size so if they have to be exact could someone let me know and I'll try them again? One of them is also crocheted a bit tighter so it needs to be stretched a bit but when ironed out it was 8 inch square! I've been making mine in blue and white but have found a couple of other colours in baby DK so if that's okay to use I'll maybe mix it in with the white.
*hugs* to everyone! :j0 -
Thank you Kathy for putting all the info on the first post! :T It has saved me working through all the posts to find the address for sending the squares on. I hope to do this on Monday. Everyones squares look so good, here hopefully is a pic of the ones I have done, hope they will be ok, the ones on the left are for OEC and the ones on the right are for smokey apart from the little one with a cat on, not sure what happened there but it only came out at 7" so I will add that one to the 7" squares for OECs and try again with a few more stitches on the needles!:o:DOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Can I be updated please with 1 more square for smokey. I will go and update my sig now.
What a bargain catznine . As lainey said the double point needles are for sox etc, and also for use as cable needles when knitting aran sweaters or anything that has cables on.
Your sqs look really nice and colourful well done.:T
I must say this blanket for smokey will be the best one ever made, so many people ,so many colours, so much love will have gone into it, I feel proud to be a part of it all, ohh I am getting all carried away now, but does`nt it give you all a lovely warm glow????????

Wow, I've missed a busy day on here.
LAINEY - I shall definitely make sure you get all my squares for Smoky in time for your flexi day. Thanks for all your help in this - I'd be lost without you.
I will find out who suggested making blankets for Smoky's children - I'm sorry that I have forgotten who it was! It is a fantastic idea.
HARDUP HESTER - I hope you find some wool. My Mum had been looking in her home town in Wiltshire and she says there's none left anywhere! I think it's all us Wooligans snapping it up! You've done well will Amazon - I haven't relisted for a while but you have just given me a nudge to do it!
CATZNINE - what a bargain you found - all for £1! Aren't charity shops just the best place to go? I found two skeins of roving today for 50p. It's in a ginger colour and I have no idea what to do with it yet but it's lovely to look at and touch! I've never bought any before.
Well, I still can't believe this thread and how wonderful all of you are for knitting, posting, photographing, sewing up and just generally being the most fantastic group of people. This thread would have just fizzled out without you all.
WATCH THIS SPACE - keep an eye on the thread tomorrow because, thanks to ARTYSTITCHES, of OECS, something wonderful will be appearing on here. I'm so excited about it so please please take a look tomorrow!
Will catch up with you all later.
