Kathy, what you said about using fancy wools... I'm wondering if the wool I've used for Smokey's blanket will be ok, its DK, but is slightly 'fuzzy' which makes it nice and soft! It's Wendy Rembrandt DK wool

I've got lots of different colours of it which is why I was using it up- and because it's so nice and soft! But I have got some standard DK here as well- so if this wool isn't ok for the blanket, I can keep the squares I've done for myself and knit more with standard DK (which isn't 'fuzzy'). I used red standard wool for the OECS blanket as I've got lots of that!

    Morning all,

Need to nip into town this morning, and just thought that I dont know what size crochet hook you are using, could anyone let me know please?

Market day tomorrow (unless the snow we are supposed to begetting puts them off) wool stall has some nice colours that would be great for the squares.

OH is at work all weekend so i should be able to get some projects finished.

Can you now sign me up as an official Wooligan ?
I have started my square for Smoky Well i say started i have managed to cast on :) I have knitted 5 rows and purled 5 rows :) after starting the cast on around 12 times :(

Does it matter if our squares have a story ? I managed to purl 4 stitches after coming back mid row. When youngest DS decided he was going to be sick :( I quickly changed back tho, as i didnt know how to correct my blunder :)

    Thanks Pippa.S,
Have just got back from town, its so nice here i may sit outside and have a go at crocheting, but wont let myself get cold as I have Raynards which means my fingers go numb if too cold. :(

Hi jellybeans I have just had a quick peek at the site and it does say its standard DK so maybe it will be ok, it looks lovely wool and as you say soft, and in really nice colours.
