    Hi everyone,

I've finished another square for Smoky's blanket - I'll try and get a pic taken of them so I can post it on here. I've been using a size 4 crochet hook too. Lainey - I think you're dealing with these squares? If you PM me details I'll get them sent out.

    Whoooooo

Can you now sign me up as an official Wooligan ?
I have started my square for Smoky Well i say started i have managed to cast on :) I have knitted 5 rows and purled 5 rows :) after starting the cast on around 12 times :(

Does it matter if our squares have a story ? I managed to purl 4 stitches after coming back mid row. When youngest DS decided he was going to be sick :( I quickly changed back tho, as i didnt know how to correct my blunder :)

Hi CHOC.ORANGE - I'll add you to our list. My last square has a story - I had to unpick it twice because I kept dozing off and not checking where I was when I started knitting again! This is what makes the squares so personal - we put a lot of ourselves into them!

PIGPEN - which blankets are your 3.5 squares for? I hope your hands aren't hurting too much.

Anyway, I don't know if everyone has looked at my very first post - there's a long rambling addition to it with all the guidelines. I am just about to update the totals and my sig - I didn't get the time to do that earlier.

The photos of the squares that have been posted are brilliant - thanks for knitting them and for sorting out the photos. I have loaded my pics onto Picasa now so I need to see how to upload them over the weekend.

Will go and update right now; have a great evening!

artystitches Congratulations on your forthcoming event!!!

I have my three squares ready to post at last and hopefully that will be done tomorrow.

They are all crocheted and on one of them I used some funky fur type yarn.
Then I saw your post about using only DK. I undid the last round of fluffy yarn. This was no easy task, it does not pull back readily and I was covered in red threads. I had to go into the garden and brush myself down. I think there will be some happy birdies this spring with red fur lined nests! However, I have now done the last round in DK and hope this will be acceptable. Thanks for all your hard work in sewing up the squares.

  • Yes this is my first child, my pregnancy has gone very well so far no problems the only thing is that i get bad pelvic pain at night so it keeps me awake but other than that i have been very lucky, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Please may I become a Wooligan? I have loads of spare wool in suitable shades (I think) and would love to help. It will make a change from knitting dog coats for another charity!

Hi all - yes, I know it's early but I woke up at 3 and couldn't get back to sleep. My mind won't switch off! I know I won't be the only one - we insominiacs are a sizeable bunch on the OS Daily!

NAOMI - I'm so glad your pregnancy is going well but, no doubt, you will be glad when it's over and you have a lovely little boy and no pelvic pain! My first one gave me pain under the ribs for most of my pregnancy and I was almost as delighted to get rid of that as I was to have my lovely son! He was born on my birthday and will always be the best birthday present I have ever had!

BELLAQUIDSIN - thanks for the update; I shall add it to the running total and to my sig. Many thanks.

SQUISHY - I'll check that I added yours when I update. I think I did, last night.

PINK FAIRY - welcome to you and I'm so glad you want to be a Wooligan! I think all the info you need is on my very first post which I edited yesterday to try and get the details all in one place. It's a bit long-winded because I can't stop typing once I get going! Your squares will be very welcome!

Well, I'm off to update then sort all the bits of paper and scribbled notes into folders. This has taken off so well and so unexpectedly that it now has to have folders and a space in my filing cabinet!

Will catch up later; hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Kathy

    Hello!

Glad my wool will be ok, I'm also knitting some in 'normal' DK wool in pink and pale blue this weekend. Finished 2 squares yesterday which brings my total for Smokey up to 6.

Have a good weekend everyone, and happy knitting! :j

    Morning All,

I managed two more squares for Smoky last night so my totals are as follows:

    OECS - 15
    Smoky - 16

I'm gonna need another trip up the loft too as I keep running out of wool. Might have to do some rummaging this time though, otherwise it's back down the charity shop. The thought of not having any 'backup' supplies of wool is starting to disturb me!

No knitting until tonight as I have kitchen units to build, yay!

Have a good day all, see you

Wow, Jellybeans and Sarah Peck - there's no stopping you, is there? Jellybeans - your squares are lovely. Sarah, good luck with the kitchen units! I'm doing the charity shops today for wool and fabric and I also can't resist buying ribbons, buttons, bits of lace and so on. I love a good rummage in those shops and have stacks of stuff that I really should try and use. I also have £20 in book tokens from Christmas so I shall see if I can pick up some knitting books, as well.

I went slightly off topic there - as you will know by now, I tend to ramble on!

    See you later.
