Just wanted to say a quick thanks - I called my Mum last night to see how she is (she's suffering with gall stones and is a bit down about needing an op to remove them) and she was over the moon to hear that I had picked up a crochet hook and was enjoying crochet. She spent literally hours when I was little trying to teach me and she's delighted it paid off. I think it was the best 'get well soon' present she's ever had and it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't spied this thread on here. Such good karma! ;)

Hi everyone - I have done my first 8" Wooligans square - a Lacy Cross if any one has "200 crochet blocks" in a lovely deep crimson - and it's a gorgeous pattern once you get past the first 2 rows

Hi everyone - didn't get a chance to come back on here yesterday; loads of visitors and lots of chocolate resulted in me dozing off while I was knitting once I'd finally sat down!

I'm going to have to count all the squares up again because I think we now have at least 25!

Thank you to all those who have started squares since my lst post - it's a fantastic response and it's great that some of you have found knitting and crochet again or have just decided to learn.

I'll come back later and recount the squares and put a running total so far into my sig and then hopefully we can add to it as we go along.
