Hi Craftlady - sorry, I meant to answer your question in my last post but didn't. The size of a lap-blanket isn't critical but they are generally around 26" X 46" (70cm X 120cm).

    Hi Kathy
I have just noticed my totals for cardigans is wrong, it should be 5 :D

At the mo I am knitting a baby jumper ....but it looks as though its going to be a bit touch and go if I have enough yarn, I only have the neckband to do, so fingers crossed I have enough :D

Hi all - Pippa - why is it your totals I always get wrong. It really isn't deliberate, honest. I'll put it right in this post. I hate knitting when I'm not sure if I have enough wool left. Good luck with it! If you don't have enough, perhaps you can use a contrasting colour?

Craftlady - it won't matter if your blanket is a square - it will still keep someone's lap warm in this cold weather!

Well, I was hoping to get some knitting done this afternoon because I'm back at work tomorrow and Friday, all day, but I've just been given some typing to do so I have to get that done first and try and catch up this evening.

Here's the latest update at last; sorry I've been so long doing it and thanks to everyone!

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's, the closing date for which was 17th October 2008 by which time they had received over 500,000 hats - that's more than 100,000 more than last year. As each one raises 50p that's over £250,000 raised for Age Concern! Our hats on here will raise £224 so please give yourselves a huge pat on the back! The hats will go on sale, each on a bottle of Innocent Smoothie, in Sainsbury's on 5th November - I wonder if any of us will recognise a hat we've made in our local branch?!

Hi Pippa - well done on finishing the jumper! I'll add it when I next update - I'm off to work in a mo and just sitting here with a coffee to get myself ready because it's going to be really busy there! I've started another teddy because I found some lovely teddy-coloured wool in my stash and there should be just enough for one. I really must get my things together for posting; I just put them on the armchair that no-one sits on and sort of get used to them being there!

Hope you have a good day.

  • sorry havent been in for a while im busy having a pre christmas clutter bust. my step sister had a little boy last week so i knitted her a jumper for him, and ifinally got the lace edging sewn on the shawl for my niece, my sister and i did the pressie swap this morning so i just got it finished and wrapped in time. Im working on a school jumper for my son and still got the baby gwon on needles, im determined they will both be finished by christmas.
I havnet done very well on this times LH challenges there seems to be so many other pulls on my time at the moment, must try harder in the new year.

Hi Mrs Moneypenny - good to hear from and please don't apologise for not having been here for a while. It's a busy time for all of us. Congratulations to your stepsister and well done on getting your projects finished in time! I've done most of my knitting for Christmas presents and a few things for Loving Hands and so on but, as you say, there are many other pulls on our time. Today is my last day covering for someone in my last job so I shall have more time next week but, with just over three weeks until Christmas - and my DS2's birthday next week - that time will soon go. I think I shall be able to get stuck in to the charity knitting more in the new year.
