Hello everyone,
Remember the blanket some of us sent 9" squares for, well
I received a letter today(anyone else had one yet) it was from Oxfam, they were asking for 10,000 squares and got 14,000 can you believe it !!!!:T
The whole thing was handed over to Prime Ministers wife, Sarah Brown at Number 10.
I have tried to put the photo they sent on here, but I cant get it to work, so if its ok I will put it on the Wooligans site.

Hiya Kathy hows it going at work?? hope you're not too tired.0 -
Hi everyone. Would you believe, I was really tired when I went to bed then woke up at around 3.30 this morning full of beans! It won't last but at least I'm only working until 1pm today. I'm collecting DGD from school this afternoon and she wants to learn to knit so wish me luck! She's nearly six years old (which is about the age I was when I learnt) and loves looking at my wool stash and knitting patterns so I hope to have another recruit to the cause soon!
Pippa, thanks for asking - yes, I am really tired in the evenings now! Work is very busy (it's an NHS dental practice with a very full list of patients) and, TBH, although the extra money is great, it's too much what with the housework, my own freelance work and DH's business admin, so I shall be glad when my stint is over! I'm missing the knitting, too, because there's hardly any time to sit down in the evenings. Still, I have tomorrow off so hope to get some done.
The photo of the Oxfam blanket is great; what a fantastic response they had!
Anyway, here's the latest update but nothing at all from me at the moment, I'm, afraid.

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's, the closing date for which was 17th October 2008 by which time they had received over 500,000 hats - that's more than 100,000 more than last year. As each one raises 50p that's over £250,000 raised for Age Concern! Our hats on here will raise £224 so please give yourselves a huge pat on the back! The hats will go on sale, each on a bottle of Innocent Smoothie, in Sainsbury's on 5th November - I wonder if any of us will recognise a hat we've made in our local branch?!

Hi Pippa - I'll be updating a bit later on. I AM enjoying my day off, thanks! I'm cleaning the house this morning and catching up on some letters that need writing, prepping for dinner, then I shall take a walk up to the post box because it's a glorious day here - bright sunshine, blue skies and some lovely crunchy fallen leaves to walk through! The trees look so good here with their autumn colours that I may take my camera; although it's quite cold, I just love days like this!
Hope you are well and enjoying some sunshine, too!

I know that some people were worried about not hearing from Innocent Drinks with conformation that their hats had arrived; well I got a pre-printed card from them today but it also had a little personal message hand written onto it (they liked the white bobbles) and my name, so I think that this is probably the reason that they are taking a bit of time to send out.0
