Hi everyone. I meant to update yesterday but didn't get round to it, I'm afraid.

Shazrobo - I think you're right; Innocent must be very busy at the moment.

Well, here is the latest update - I can only add one more pair of bootees at the moment and will start a bunting this afternoon because I have found lots of white wool that needs using up.

Also, I have found that knitting with wooden needles is much easier on the tendonitis in my hands. I managed to pick some up in a charity shop last week and find them much more comfortable. They are very expensive in the shops, though, and don't come up very often in the charity shops, so it will be a while before I have replaced all the ones I use.

    Anyway, here is the update:

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's, the closing date for which was 17th October 2008 by which time they had received over 500,000 hats - that's more than 100,000 more than last year. As each one raises 50p that's over £250,000 raised for Age Concern! Our hats on here will raise £224 so please give yourselves a huge pat on the back! The hats will go on sale, each on a bottle of Innocent Smoothie, in Sainsbury's on 5th November - I wonder if any of us will recognise a hat we've made in our local branch?!

    Hi Kathy,
can you update me with 1 Bunting please.

I havent finished the sailors hat yet,but its getting there.

I finally managed to do a 6" strip for the Wallace and Grommet worlds largest teapot challenge, could'nt decide how long to do it so settled for 12".I've been going to do it for ages and as it finishes on 17th I thought I'd better get a move on.

Hi Pippa - thanks for the update. I did a bunting last night. Now that I'm using wooden needles I find I'm back up to the speed I had before the tendonitis reared its ugly head!

Craftlady - thanks for your update! I don't think it matters where they are sent, either, because both Loving Hands and PreemiesUK need them. It's fine to change the pattern. My Mum has invented her own baby vest design which knits up really quickly. At the moment she is just finishing off eight complete baby packs to send off to a charity in Africa and then she'll do some for Loving Hands.

I've not heard about the Wallace and Grommet thing - I'll have a look online to see what I can find out about it.

    I'll update a little later.

    Thanks.

Pippa - I've just found this http://www.wallaceandgromitfoundation.org/pages/tea_takepart.htm and it gives the closing date for the knitting as 21st November, which gives you a few more days! I shall do a strip too. Thanks for mentioning it!

Well, just as I was getting back into the swing of things, I have run out of wool. I'm part way through a very snuggly baby blanket! I'll be posting a parcel to loving hands this weekend hopefully.

    Hi Kathy,
I did it from something posted on here ages ago, that has loads of different sites for charity knitting, but some of the dates have run out now.
knitting_for_charity_08 its called, I printed the poster off and it says on there 21stNov, but in the blog it said 17th, so I thought to be on the safe side I'd get it done and sent off as soon as pos.
    Sounds good though doesnt it?
