    Hello  I'm back,
It seems ages since I was here, longer than 2 weeks anyway  and what a change in weather to come home to....brrr its bloomin freezin!!!!!!!!

Did you enjoy yourself at your Mum's Kathy? hope you did, and you came back nice and relaxed

Well...the IS Hat count is staggering, even more than last year, what a lot of lovely people there are, putting their time and knitting skills to such a good cause, and I must say I enjoyed doing them.
I had a card about the same time you did mrs-moneypenny. I have sent some more since then, it was a week or so before I went away, havent heard anything yet though.

I really missed my knitting while I was away, I started a bunting last night, cast on then promptly fell asleep :o

Off to find a pattern for sailors hats now in DK, the only pattern I have is chunky wool and I havent any of that, and I dont really want to buy any more wool yet as I seem to have rather a large stash at the moment.

Not read through the post yet, will go make a :coffee: and do that now.

Hi everyone and thanks for the lovely picture, Maytaurus! That's the sweetest witch I've ever seen!

Craftlady - I shall have a look for 4-ply patterns and will also see if I can find out if 4-ply in the USA is the same as here.

Mrs Moneypenny - hi to you; sounds like you've been busy! Well done to you for doing paper rounds in this cold weather!

Pippa - welcome back; the cold weather here must have come as a shock to you! I had a lovely restful time at my Mum's, thanks, but didn't get as much knitting done as I expected because she whizzed me round all her favourite shops during the day and we talked and talked in the evenings!

Topaz - welcome to you and glad you have joined us. If you look at the very first post on this thread all the relevant information is there. We send our squares either to OECS or Loving Hands - there are links to both in the first post. Loving Hands have an active forum that most of us have joined and they distribute our knitted items to various charities both here and overseas. On that first post, too, you'll find a link to our Yahoo group, the Wooligans. We post photos of our work on there. You will need to apply and I will have to 'approve' you. Do join us there - there are loads of photos on there!

Well, here is the latest update

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's campaign for which the closing date is 17th October!

Hi Craftlady - here are some links for 4-ply. The last link is a conversion chart showing the equivalent yarns from USA to UK. USA 4-ply is known as 'fingering' here; the last link has a pattern for that. The first link is a UK one for 4-ply. If I find any more I'll post them on here!

On either of the above links, if you scroll down to 'return to pattern page' there are some other patterns for 4-ply.
