evening all, just to let you know im not really here this week either its 1/2 term and DH and the kids are off so im not really getting any time on the puter, have knitted a sailor hat but it is HUGE, i think the wool i used was too chunky for the pattern ive had to roll the rib over twice and its still big, hopefully there is a sailor out there with really thick bushy hair that needs a hat;)

Hi Gingernutmeg - for some reason I can't find your hats on any of the twelve pages that come up on that site. I'll have another look a bit later. Well done; you made an amazing number of hats!

For some reason I'm not showing in the list on the Innocent Flickr site - I wonder whether you have to be 'approved' first before they put your pics up? However, if you click on the members bit I'm there as Gingernutmeg, so you can see the pics (I think, I was born to be a Luddite lol and technology overwhelms me, give me knitting over computers any day :))

Yay! I made 5 STC hats! Go me, go me! I know this is really un-cool but I discovered that I can knit in the car (not whilst driving obviously  ) and as we had a 3-hour journey on Saturday, then another home again on Sunday I was able to make two STC hats. One on the way there, one on the way back! I have now re-classified a three-hour drive as a one-hat journey :rotfl: :rotfl: . (OH thinks I have gone mad....maybe I have!)

I posted them off on Monday, with their little label things pinned on.

I have decided I will now finish my 10 year-old knitting project then I may do a preemie cardigan and hat.

    Am loving the knitting!

Hi everyone - I'm back and I haven't done any of the knitting I thought I'd do because my Mum and I have either talked or shopped! I really must get a wiggle on. I expected to get loads of knitting done so I have lots to make up for. My visit stopped my Mum knitting, too, so I feel doubly guilty. She has made loads over the last few weeks but I forgot to ask her for an update so I will phone her later and ask her.Welcome to Starsparkle and good luck teaching your girls to knit! I hope you have read the very first post on here; there's a lot of info on there and links to various things.Shez/Shezmit! Thanks for putting me right that there is only one of you! I will update a bit later on and correct your totals!Mrs Moneypenny - I'm sorry but I had to laugh about your sailor's hat! I'm sure there are plenty of mega-hairy sailors out there!Chickadee - I'm glad you're enjoying the knitting. One of our knitters, Chalky, worked out that she could knit a hat every 50 miles as a passenger! Well done on your hats. And, no, you are not mad!Maytaurus - good to hear from you and thanks for more great links!Gingernutmeg - I shall have another look on Flickr for your photos.Well, housework calls so I will call in later. I am determined to restart my knitting this afternoon so I will work extra hard getting the boring housework done first!See you later.KathyXX

Ooof! Still on the same blanket (#2). If only crocheting with baby wool would grow as fast as with normal wool! It is nice and snuggly though, all 6"x6" of it!

Hi everyone. I have just tried to update in my usual way - by editing, copying and pasting my last update to add new figures to, and it will only post with no gaps between the names! I have tried several times and have now lost the plot; I can't leave it like that because it's too difficult to read. I will have another go later.KathyXX
