Hi Kathy can you update me with 5 IS HATS please :D

I havent been able to get into the LH site for a few days, goodness knows why,it just keeps shutting my Internet connection down, saying "windows has encountered a problem and needs to shut down". It is only on the LH site, everything else is fine.
I will go have try now.

Hi all - Shazrobo - the teddies are really easy; I've knitted and crocheted them and they are very satisfying to do. It seems complicated at first but once you get going you'll be surprising how easy they are.

I'll update a little later today - DH is home today and keeps interrupting me. He needs to go out to do some quoting later so I shall wait until then so that I can concentrate! Why can't they cope on their own?!

Pippa - how annoying that you keep losing LH. I get that if I try and click into the home page of my ISP but everything else is OK. I shall ask my DS1 how to fix it.

  • I'm happy to see what anyone else wants to go with for a wooligans challenge.

Im going to finsh my robe for preemies and mums waistcoat and then do something for 'Chris Evans' before i start a challenge item (if i dont get a bat on ill miss the challenge completely:eek: )

I have printed off the sailors hat pattern as that looks like something i could knit up quick, but im happy to go with the majority as i also liked knitting the tragic teddies, but they do cost more to post as they need stuffing.

As all the causes are worthy ones, I don't think it matters what we knit. Shall we just do whatever we fancy doing? For example, I know my Mum has a lot of dark wool in her stash which would be ideal for the sailors' hats whereas I still have some 'baby' colours for blankets and brighter colours for teddies. If anyone wants us to aim for a particular challenge, please let me know, otherwise I'm more than happy for us all to knit whatever we want. As I say, they are all good causes.

  • thats very true Kathy and whatever we knit will help lift the figures for that appeal. Also if we are all knitting different things it will spread the help of the wooligans across all the worthy challenges.

Hi Kathy, I managed to get into the LH site earlier and had a look at the new challenges.
You and mrs-moneypenny are right whatever we do will help boost the figures somewhere along the line.

Have said I will do some boobs though, and they knit up quickly.
I'll send them unstuffed like last time, as its cheaper postage wise because of the bulk. ;)
Will have a go at the sailors hats too, and will carry on knitting for Preemies and doing squares for OECS.

Got lots of silky yarn left too so will carry on with the scarves until its all gone.I was buying it 10-50g balls for £1 which makes 5 scarves.
It is so easy to knit too, 25sts on size 6mm needles and garter stitch until 2 balls have been used.

O what a long post, you will all be asleep before you get to the end of it :rotfl:

Hi everyone - time has run away with me recently so I haven't update for a few days. I'm going to do that now.

Pippa - I hope you have a great holiday; I will also be away from the 19th to 23rd staying with my Mum for a few days. I'll post on here and update the day before I go.

Thanks to you all for your stupendous efforts - we are still going strong more than six months after this all started. It gives me a lovely warm glow when I think of how well we have done and are still doing!

    Here's the latest update.

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's campaign for which the closing date is 17th October!
