Hi F1widow - you're not a 'pain'! Loving Hands also take squares and scarves - www.lovinghands.org.uk. I think the scarves can be any size but someone else on here may advise you on that. I'll have a scout around online to see if anyone else wants squares, too.

I've just found this http://www.bhkc.co.uk/data/knitting_for_charity_08.htm - some great ideas here, including knitting a square that will be joined to others to make a long scarf. Some of the project deadlines have already expired, though, so do check.

IMPORTANT - on the site I have just posted the link to, there is a mention of the Innocent Smoothie hats campaign which says that the closing date for the hats is 10th October 2008; on the Innocent Smoothie site itself it says 17th October. I shall email them to find out the correct date just to be sure!

hi kathy, can you please update with one scarf please

f1widow, loving hands accepts suares in all colours and textures, they make them into blankets for the elderly, and also for animal charities, ideal for using up darker colours, or wool that isnt very soft

Hi everyone. Hope all is well. I've stupidly sprained my ankle in a fall (in public right outside my bank, of course!) so will be doing a bit more knitting I think!

I had a lovely email from the Innocent Smoothie team because I had seen their closing date for the hats as 10th October in one article and 17th on their site. They confirmed that it is, indeed, 17th. I have done some more and will probably do another few and get mine posted by the weekend. I nearly sent them last week but I found a bag with some really small balls of leftover wool so I thought I might as well use it all up on the hats.

Anyway, here is the latest update

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's campaign for which the closing date is 17th October!
