Hi everyone.
Pippa - I managed to get into the LH trivia comp site. I know it closes every morning for maintenance so perhaps you tried at the wrong time. I'm not sure if it closes at the same time every morning. I just try again a bit later!
Yes, I love being a Wooligan - I just wish I could devote ALL my time to it but the dratted housework and money-earning just gets in the way! It's a shame I'm not that lucky student who won over £7million the other day - no credit crunch for her I think! Still, what a lovely age to win so much and she looks like a really nice girl! I really should buy the occasional lotto ticket but most of the time I forget.
Anyway, I intend spending most of the afternoon with my knitting. I have a few more IS hats to finish off and want to start on something else.
See you all later.
I'll update this afternoon!

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted on here before, but you all inspired me so I have knitted 7 Innocent Smoothie hats and 2 STC hats. I will post them off shortly, as I don't think I'll have time to knit many more before the appeals close.

Hi Chickadee and a very warm welcome to you; glad you have joined us. I'll add your name to our list when I update the totals later on. If you look at the very first post it has all the info about what we do and there is a link to our Yahoo group. Also, most of our knitted items are sent here www.lovinghands.org.uk; they have a very active forum there and lots of knitting patterns, and we also make for PreemiesUK.
Many thanks

Hi Kathy,
Thanks for the welcome. I like knitting but I get bored with large items and the small things are just enough for me. I don't want to start yet another big knitting project, just to discover it in a cupboard years later still incomplete. I have had a look on the loving hands website. What a fantastic, generous community! I can't get into Yahoo groups from work so I'll have a look at the Wooligans later when I am at home.
I'll keep popping in if I make any more stuff.

Hi everyone.
Shazrobo - that's an amazing total of IS hats - well done to you!
Mrs Moneypenny - good luck with the extra work.
Chickadee - if you want to join the Wooligans you need to apply and then I will 'approve' you. Once you have joined you'll be able to see all our photos! Loving Hands is a lovely site, run by a lady called Lou; you will probably have seen on the site that she had a dreadful accident a couple of months ago but has just started posting again. I much prefer knitting small things. I used to knit jumpers for everyone years ago but find they take too long. I love making toys and other little things as presents for Christmas and birthdays and knitting for charity is rewarding as well as a great way of using up my ever-growing wool stash!
Anyway, here's the latest update and, once again, thanks to you all.
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats for Sainsbury's campaign for which the closing date is 17th October!

This is a message partially for Shezmit and anyone else that can answer:-
Im (as usual) being a bit blonde - Ive posted on here a few times to ask questions about squares (thank you to all those that replied) now I have looked and got myself confused as usual ha ha - Ive now managed to get some squares done sooooo.....
a) 7" Squares - where do they need to go - OECS (via addresses on first page) and PreemiesUK (Via Shezmit) - is that right ???
b) Is there anyone else who needs these squares and if so are they are all 7" ?
c) I saw in one of your posts from a lady who had progressed from squares that you then advised the scarves - who are they for size etc and is it just garter stitch.?
Im really sorry to be a pain (yet again) many thanks f1widow xxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0
