    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Kathy

Just to let you know I am back on board after being away for a while. I have to check out the address so I can send off the baby hats. I have a fluffy scarf almost finished as well for the next challenge. Have one of my dd's old wardrobes full of wool and fabric so must make a serious dent in it all before dh starts to moan!

Hi Catz - good to hear from you! The address for the baby hats is on Loving Hands, on the home page. www.lovinghands.org.uk. If you haven't already joined their site, please do - they have a good forum with a lovely friendly atmosphere - a 'virtual' atmosphere, maybe, but we know that's possible because the OS daily has it, too!

Hi everyone and thanks Pippa S, Lainey and Mioliere for the welcome :)I've started working on my second hat already, I have a lot of wool that needs to be used up, but not enough people that appreciated getting homemade knitted goodies, so I haven't done much knitting for a while.
Still now that's changed thanks to the Wooligans :T I said in one of my previous posts that I haven't had time to catch up with all the posts on this thread and I'm sure the info I want is in here somewhere, but if someone could point me in the direction of the pram star pattern I'd be grateful as I have loads of tiny bits of wool that would be perfect for these. Just printed off the innocent smoothie hat details, a couple of years ago I made a pile of tiny hats for some little knitted snowmen and santas, I also did witches hats, cowboy hats and several others. They were really quick to do as well so shall root out the patterns adjust the sizes if needed and knit some up.

Last night I sent DH into the loft to find a bag of baby wool I know is up there, unfortunately we keep paint up there as well, hubby somehow managed to knock a tin out, it burst all over the landing, hit a few of the stairs, the walls, doors and made a right old mess  .

Result is we now have no landing carpet as we couldn't get all the paint out. We spent an hour cleaning up and trying to clean the carpet on the landing and decided it would be easier to just rip the carpet up and throw it away. Trying not to be glum about it, DH said "never mind, you can always knit us a few carpet squares" bless him, made me laugh and tonight he's going to have another look for the wool, after making sure there is no precarious paint cans loitering near the loft hatch :) It's not all a bad thing as we've got a little money saved as part of a decorating budget we set up when we got OS organised. So all its done is bring the decorating project forward a little, and upset the cats who don't like snoozing on the floorboards lol!

Hi Herbaholic - so sorry about the mess the paint made. I bet your DH couldn't believe all that trouble just because you wanted some wool!

The Pram Stars pattern is from Loving Hands. Lou emailed it to me but the print was too small to read with comfort and I couldn't enlarge it for some reason so, using a magnifying glass, I re-typed it! I'll have to see if I can find the email picture because you'll need that for reference. If I can't find it and post it, I'll let you know and, if you join Loving Hands and ask, Lou will email it to you!
    PRAM STARS
Ideal for using up tiny scraps of left over yarn.
    DK yarn

    3.75mm or 4mm needles

    CENTRE – MAKE TWO

Cast on 10 sts and work 2 rows st.st.

Increase 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row until there are 18 sts on needle, ending with a purl row

Decrease 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row until there are 10 sts remaining ending with a purl row. Cast off.

POINTS – ADD SIX TO EACH CENTRE PIECE

Pick up 9 sts along one of the six edges of one of the centre pieces and, working in g-st, decrease 1 st at each end of 5th, then on every foll 6th row until 3sts remain. Knit 2 rows.

Next row - K 3-tog and fasten off.

Repeat on every edge to make points altogether.

Join all seams. Hang a cord from one point. Embroider a smiley face with embroidery thread.

If desired, sew bobbles on to the ends of each point, thus

BOBBLES: Cast on 3 sts and knit one row.
Next row: increase in every st (6 sts.

    Knit 3 rows.

Next row: K 2-tog 3 times (3 sts). Break off yarn, thread through remaining sts and fasten off. Sew seam and add to point.

I'm off to look for the picture of the stars now.

Herbaholic - I can't find a way of sending the Pram Stars picture on here but I'll see if you have an email address on Yahoo or on your brilliant website that I had a good nose around this morning and send it to you that way!

Cheers Kathy :) Jusat got the mail and copied your instructions, another lovely knitting project to add to the list. DH is used to my demands by now, he always gets his own back. He even said I'd willed the paint to fall out to bring the new decorating project further forward! Not likely when I'm just getting back into knitting lol!

Thanks for the photo and instructions, the oddments bag is in the spare room, so no pending disasters can happen and I can go find it myself :)

Finished another premmie hat last night, are we allowed to put bobbles (pom poms) on top of them? I have just enough wool left to do a little blue bobble, but thought I'd check first? Also finished 1 adult scarf and started another.

Hi Herbaholic - you decorate your hats any way you want! I shall update the totals a bit later, just before I leave for my weekend away so that we are as up to date as possible!

    I'll call back later!
