I agree about the 3 & 4 ply jumpers i prefer double knit and chunky wool it knits up quicker;)
Mr bean teddy??? sounds interesting
Know what you mean mrs-moneypenny ...it seems to take forever to knit with 3 and 4 ply :rotfl:

Hi Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for the update - I'll add your third Ted to the running totals in a minute. Thanks also for making me feel guilty about the Mr Bean teddy I knitted for DS2 (he's 26 years but loves Mr Bean!) last year, then shoved in a bag because I couldn't be bothered to sew him up! That's all he needs, all the pieces have been knitted; I will go and dig him out and make a start on sewing him up today.
I am still crocheting a baby blanket for Loving Hands. It is a simple pattern but still seems to be taking longer than I predicted. I could have made it smaller but the pattern said ch 130 and it's turned out at 3' long so needs to be at least 2' wide! So far, I'm halfway there!
I really think Lou must be joking about the 3 or 4 ply! If not, she may have to wait a long time for the challenge to be fulfilled.
Pippa - I'll see if I can find the link to Mr Bean's Teddy.
Will update now.

:hello:
Morning everybody,
Where are you allits very quiet in here.;)
Just to let you all know, the teddy`s challenge did`nt finish when the choir went back to Africa the end of June, I thought it had but I went in to the LH site last night and it`s still on for another few weeks, so we can still do a few more if we want.

loving hands has posted the list of challenges, scarves, knitted boobs or items for the children at an orphanage. The teddies and bags are still required for another 3 weeks. Has anyone got a preferance for our MSE challenge, i think the orphanage one would be quite good as we can choose whatever we prefer for that and knit clothes toys or blankets but they all help with the final challenge BUT i'm happy to go with what ever the majority on here would like.
I have asked for the 'boob' pattern as they are doing a 'pimp my boob' competition and the items will be auctioned off to raise funds for a breast cancer charity so ill do one for that.
Kathy you made me smile with your confession about how long your poor ted has waited to be sewn up i thought i was bad leaving mine for 18 months:rotfl:. it wont take long i promise- i got mine all stuffed and put together on sunday afternoon.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for the info and for the encouragement about my Mr Bean's Teddy. I didn't get it out yesterday - I forgot! I plan to sew it up while sitting in the sun after lunch this afternoon!
I'll have a look at the 'Pimp my Boob' comp; sounds like fun! I'll try and start one today - it's for a great cause. I agree with you about having the orphanage as our next challenge - as you say, we can make a variety of things for it. What do all you other Wooligans think?
Well, I didn't get much chance for any knitting or crochet last night because I was out for dinner at DS2's and then I had to work online until midnight! Today I'm pleasing myself what I do; I got loads of housework done this morning so I've 'earned' some time off! Knitting, crochet and sewing up is the plan for the rest of the day!

hi all, am i too late to join in?
just discovered this thread this morn, and think its great, and i have already registered on the loving hands site, and have started knitting my first baby hat.
haven't knitted since sons were babies so starting small first, before attempting cardigans etc again
shazenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
Hi Shazrobo - of course you're not too late to join in! There is an open-ended invitation to join us, both here and on our Yahoo site http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/ for which you'll need to apply and then I have to 'approve' you.
I'm glad you've already joined the Loving Hands site; the lady who runs it, Lou, must be superhuman because it's a busy site with lots of donations being made for the various challenges and causes she finds. Making hats is a great way to refresh your knitting skills. Did you look at the very first post on this thread? It has recently been edited to keep it up to date; the running totals are posted on that thread as well as as we go along on here and you will also find links to lots of patterns and information about what we are doing. I try and keep my sig up to date, too, so everyone can see how we're doing.
This only started around 15th March and I am amazed at how much we have achieved and how much we are still achieving - it's great to be part of such a group and I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.
Feel free to ask any questions; there are lots of us on here so you won't have long to wait for an answer!
