Hi Lainey - great to hear from you! It seems we all have an animal hidden away waiting to be finished! I did vow to finish my Mr Bean Teddy the other day but got distracted. I have three things on the go so I'll have to put him on hold for a few more days! I have half a Pram Star on one set of needles, a baby blanket on a crochet hook, a doll's layette that I'm doing for a present and I want to crochet a flower corsage for my Mum with some wool she sent me. I put them all in see-through bags earlier and am doing a little bit of each this evening!
I hope you are keeping well?

Thank you so much for the welcome
:) I make quilts and knit but can't crochet lol but this is such a wonderful thing to be involved in
I shall go check out the patterns aas soon as I can
Are there any types of wool that I should avoid? Are we knitting for the orphanage? I read that as being all different kinds and sizes of things I think

Hiya Lainey nice to see you back:T have you had a look at the Loving Hands site yet? The new challenges are on now and we have a real good choice, but no 42" 3ply jumpers...Kathy was sooo disapointed
Welcome to you buggalugs we love new members here

Hi Buggalugs - I think our next challenge will be the orphanage; it's such a good cause. I don't think there are specific wools to avoid but I go by the 'feel' of wool when thinking of it next to a baby's tender skin. We can make all sorts of things from clothes to toys and Loving Hands also has a Pimp my Boob competition running. Check out the site and, if you want to knit a boob, ask Lou to email you the pattern and entry form.
Hi Pippa - yes I was bitterly disappointed that I can't make a big jumper in 3-ply! Yeah, right!
Anyway, much as I would like another hour with the needles I think I'd better go to bed.
See you all tomorrow!

:hello:
Mornin everyone,
Welcome to you Herbaholic you will love it here we are a friendly bunch
Kathy I just knew you were disapointed  :rotfl: :rotfl:
I think the orphanage is a good challenge, they need such a lot and always will so anything we do will be useful to them. So yes I am up for that.
I have a matinee jacket on needles at the mo,for DIL`s niece, also another teddy, I aim to finish them before the weekend.
It`s quite exciting is`nt it starting a new challenge??
Any idea on targets time?

Hi Pippa - as if I didn't have enough on my needles, I found a little baby's jumper that I started knitting ages ago for a doll for a niece (I hope I still sent her a pressie),and I had to stop knitting because the tendonitis in my hands had just been confirmed by the doctor and my job was causing a lot of pain with them. Anyway, I managed to get it finished - like Mr Bean's Teddy, it only needed sewing up but the new challenge was the motivation to get it done! I wonder what else I may have half-knitted in this house?! It's no wonder I can't find some of my needles! I will update with my jumper a bit later on.
I had better announce the new challenge properly, I think!
TO ALL WOOLIGANS
Those of you who are registered with Loving Hands will no doubt be aware of their orphanage challenge so I hope you all feel happy about making that our next challenge, too! It means we can carry on with the things we are knitting right up to age 16. In my earlier post - number 1347 - I pasted the link to Loving Hands' challenge page so all the info is there and I shall also update the Yahoo group and the first page on this thread for any newbies who want to join us. As Pippa has said, the need will always be there; it's a great cause.
See you all later.
