    Hello Kathy,
Hope you are feeling better now, and a bit more like your old self.

I have had a very productive few days, knitting and all sorts of other things.

The 9" square for Oxfam is done but not sure where to send it  , any ideas?

Can you update me with 3 IS Hats please, :D

I have also done 3 squares for OECS.
and have started a pram star, one half is done just got to finish the other half now. When its finished do you stuff it or leave it flat?

  • Hello everyone, have been inpsired by your thread and despite being a long time winter only crafter, I seem to have just crocheted a square :-). Happy to have joined you all. I'll be back with n00b questions soon.

HI everyone; I'm back on form now, at last!

Queen of String - welcome to you! If you read the very first post on this thread all the relevant information is there. It has recently been edited to bring it up to date and the running totals are posted there, too! Please ask any questions if you are unsure of anything; there are lots of us so you will not have to wait long for an answer! Also, join us here, too, on our Yahoo group http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/. You have to apply and I have to 'approve' you. You will find lots of photos of our achievements so far.

Pippa - off to find out about Oxfam if I can - back in a mo!

Here it is: send squares to:

    Sarah Blakemore
    Oxfam Campaigns
    47 Park Square East
    Leeds
    LS21 2NL

Closing date is 1st August 2008 from what I have just read!

The Pram Stars don't need stuffing but, in her email, Lou suggested leaving the ends of wool from when you pick up the stitches for the points, and stuffing them into the middle! Saves weaving them in!

I'm crocheting a baby blanket right now and really enjoying working on a bigger project!

Off to update now with your hats now.

    Latest Update:

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Hi everyone. Thanks Bella for your kind words. I don't find it hard work, though, I love the fact that this is going so well and I am really enjoying it all. We are helping so many people, aren't we?

Chalky - do you ever eat or go to sleep?! Your totals are amazing! Well done.

Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for your update. I'm sure if your ted doesn't get there in time, Lou will find him an owner elsewhere! I've been trying to work out why such a simple design looks so appealing; after all, there are hundreds of different types of teddies in the world, but I think it's because their arms are open wide waiting for a cuddle! With their smiley faces they look so welcoming, don't they? I love the thought that they will become precious to their new owners. Making the practical things is great because they are definitely needed but these teds seem more special, somehow.

Anyway, I'll update the totals now and catch up with you all later. I'm still crocheting a blanket but not as quickly as I'd like because I have to do DH's accounts (yawn, yawn!!). They're nearly finished, though, and as DH is away next week, I shall be able to devote much more time to the knitting and crochet!

    Hello everyone!

I've been slowly knitting (my hands keep getting very hot and covered in a rash so it's hard sometimes grrrr!) and have done 3 more hats. I've just parcelled them all up to send to Loving Hands, and put a photo on the yahoo group. Lainey the blanket looks great :D I love all the other teddies people have made too :D

Thanks for the Oxfam address,I will parcel it up and send it off tomorrow, when I send the OECS squares off. Wonder how close they are to the 250,000.
The pram star, is finished and it looks better than I thought it would when I started, so I am very pleased.
