Hi Anne
I've just looked at your photo - your teds look lovely; I love the way you've lined them up in a row and the colours are brilliant.
Here is the Pram Stars pattern; I've posted it here in case anyone else would like to have a go.PRAM STARSIdeal for using up tiny scraps of left over yarn.
3.75mm needles (but I have been using 4mm needles because my 3.75s have rough points and need replacing!)
CENTRE – MAKE TWO
Cast on 10 sts and work 2 rows st.st.
Increase 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row until there are 18 sts on needle, ending with a purl row
Decrease 1 st at each end of next and every foll alt row until there are 10 sts remaining ending with a purl row. Cast off.
POINTS – ADD SIX TO EACH CENTRE PIECE
Pick up 9 sts along one of the six edges of one of the centre pieces and, working in g-st, decrease 1 st at each end of 5th, then on every foll 6th row until 3sts remain. Knit 2 rows.
Next row - K 3-tog and fasten off.
Repeat on every edge to make points altogether.
Join all seams. Hang a cord from one point. Embroider a smiley face with embroidery thread.
If desired, sew bobbles on to the ends of each point, thus
BOBBLES: Cast on 3 sts and knit one row.
Next row: increase in every st (6 sts.
Knit 3 rows.
Next row: K 2-tog 3 times (3 sts). Break off yarn, thread through remaining sts and fasten off. Sew seam and add to point.
It has been retyped from the one that Lou emailed to me in which the writing was too small to read with comfort. The original instructions said to make each point separately then sew them to the centre pieces but Lou found that it is much less fiddly to pick up the stitches for the start of each point on the centre pieces themselves - saves a lot of sewing together. You'll see what I mean when you start knitting! She also suggests stuffing all the ends of yarn into the middle to give it a bit of filling and that saves a lot of weaving in of ends! I did try to post the picture from Lou's email to give you a point of reference but, for some reason, it didn't work. If you ask Lou to email the pattern to you, you will get the picture that way.
I sent off five squares to Belinda at OECS yesterday; they cost £1.45 to post but the parcel with two teddies, one doll, seven hats and three hanks of lace cost just 94p! I don't understand the Royal Mail sometimes.
I think Lou has probably been very busy and just hasn't had time to update the donations thread. Running Loving Hands must be almost a full-time job, I should think, and it must take time to take photos of each delivery and write a caption to go with each one! I think she does a terrific job; she responds to posts on her forum very promptly and, when I emailed to ask her for the Pram Stars pattern, she replied in no time at all. I am full of admiration for her. Hopefully, she'll be updating soon.
Anyway, I'm off to finish my first Pram Star and then I think I'll tackle a baby blanket and send them off together.
Will catch up with everyone later.

Thanks Kathy I will print it off later.
I have been in to the L/H site and the pics are on there now, it looks like Lou was having trouble with a lead, thats why she couldnt post them.
The amount of pics on there it must have taken her hours.
Do I remember right someone wanted 9" squares for a giant blanket? I will pop into the first post and have a look.
Thanks again
Anne

Hi Pippa - I think Oxfam were wanting 9" squares. I'm glad Lou is posting photos again - I shall have a look later; I love seeing all the donations!
Off to do some more knitting now - if I don't doze off!

morning folks.
Hi Kathy, sorry you have been poorly, I could have been helping more with the updates but I'm glasd you're feeling better now.
I've not been around much lately, been bit stressed at work and home but still plugging away a the final blanket. I definitely plan to finish it this weekend. Then I'll be posting it to Smoky, have to ask her for her address first though lol!!
was hoping to trim the grass but it's raining!!! ah well, I'll have more time to do the blanket! need to do some baking this weekend, we're running low on cakes here and I want to take some into work on Monday for my birthday so I'll get up early tomorrow.
anyhoo, you're all doing an amazing job with the challenges and Kathy you are doing a fabulous job keeping it all together, you're definitely the lynch pin of this group!!
love to all,,,Lainey XXXXXXdoing what I do best...trying!!-- lainey :j

Hi Lainey - good to read your post. You do not have time to help with the updating, bless you! It's not that difficult because I try and keep on top of it although being unwell has not helped! I still don't feel that much better; I thought I was on the mend but whatever it is keeps coming back. I'll see the doctor on Monday if I still feel bad. Knitting and crochet definitely helps take my mind off feeling ill; I find it very soothing!
I'm so sorry that work and home are stressful for you - I hope it gets better; you are probably doing too much. For your sake I shall be so glad when the blankets are finished! I wish I had insisted on doing some of the sewing up. You are doing such a brilliant job!
I hope you have a fantastic birthday on Monday - you deserve the best. Thanks for all you are doing - you truly are an angel!

Hi everyone
The pictures on the site are lovely, it's great to see finished items and congratulations to everyone!
I've finished off another seven hats this week, so that gives me a total of 37. I'm still trying to get OH to take me a picture, the camera is somewhere in the bottom of a box and I haven't yet persuaded him to go rooting for it! Anyway, I promise I'll try to post some kind of pic this week.
Happy knitting!0 -
Hi Ginger - you've done so well with the hats. I will update at the end of this post.
The photo that Lainey has posted shows just what a wonderful result she has achieved; after all, the blankets started off as balls of wool from all different areas of the UK and even from Aussie in Australia, and now here they are all joined together. It's quite an achievement, isn't it, and one you should all be very proud of. Many thanks for responding beyond my wildest dreams!
The other challenges, hats, baby items, teddies for tragedies, are doing just as well - it seems that no-one wants to stop and the causes are so worthwhile, aren't they? Thank you all for using your considerable skills to help those with far less than ourselves.
Wooligans forever, I say!
Anyway, off to update.
Latest Update:
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.
