Hi everyone - Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for the update!

Gingernutmeg - thanks for letting me know that they were 'Smoothie' hats! They are satisfyingly easy to do, aren't they?

Pippa - I'm sure Loving Hands would welcome your stole/scarf; they are bound to be able to find it a good home.

Well, I've had a hectic day today and it's still not over. I've just treated myself to a sit down with a cuppa on here before I get going again. I really hope I can do some knitting tonight - it's the only way I can really relax!

    Will update now.

    Latest Update:

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Hi again - I don't know if any of you would be interested in a competition being run by The Sailors' Society and sponsored by Simply Knitting Magazine; the challenge is 'to design and then knit something any self-respecting sailor would shudder to wear - in public, at least! The hats need to be well made but the real challenge is to creat something outrageous, humorous, witty - we want to exhibit hats with attitude!'. The closing date for entries was today, but I have just emailed them and it has now been extended to the end of July. If anyone wants to have a go, write to: Catch a Sailor's Fancy, 8 Greenwich Quay, London, SE8 3EY and ask for an entry form which you fill in and post back to register your interest. Once you have done this, make your hat and send it in. There's a bit more info here http://www.simplyknitting.co.uk/ but don't forget that the closing dates for the entry forms is now the end of July although in the article it says it is today! I think this sounds like a lot of fun and, if anyone does enter, it would be great to see a photo before the hat is sent off! I'm going to have a go - once I've come up with a design!

  • hi all, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately, I have been reading the threads when I can though. Your knitting numbers are amazing,I'm so impressed. I hope to be joining in again as soon as I've finished sewing the blankets. Speaking of which, I've just popped a pic of the 2nd boys blanket on our yahoo site, I hope you all like it? I'm going to get back onto Smokys blanket now so it should be finished soon, it was halfway done before I got sidetracked with the LO blankies.
By The Way, HELLOOOO to all our new wooligans, you're all stars in my book!

Had a bit of a pom-pom fest tonight (the floor is covered in clippings) so I've got another three hats finished (so six in total). The rainbow wool is lovely but I've almost finished the ball, so I'm going to have to think of what colours to do next, which is the best part, I think :)

    Hello everyone!

I had a break from my current project (a big blanket) and knitted 2 more baby hats last night, this week I also got finished a corner to corner baby blanket. Knitting for babies is addictive lol, I shall go have a look at the teddies pattern too!

I got lost half way through this thread - so many posts!

In brief can someone tell me what we're knitting, is there a pattern, what colours, where do I send it afterwards etc??

    I'm not a knitting pro but my mum is . . .

Hi everyone - thanks for all the updates! I will add them to the running totals a bit later - I have cakes in the oven and the timer about to 'ding'!

Wendywitch - welcome aboard and thanks for joining! All the info you need is in the very first post on this thread - I edited it some time ago to make sure everyone could get hold of all the details. I update that first post as well as the current day's with the running totals and I also update my sig so that we can all see our astounding progress! I do hope you enjoy it here with us and, also, please join us on our Yahoo group http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/ - we have lots of photos of our squares and hats on there!

I promise I'll update the totals later - cakes will be on fire if I don't get them out right now!

Ahhhh just taken a look at the link Kathy :T all those smiley little faces clutching a teddy, it makes me want to start knitting them straight away,

I must finish my corner to corner blanket first, just lately every time I pick it up either the phone rings, or the doorbell goes or I fall asleep:o
