Mioliere - total 10 hats for me now, going to post them off tomorrow.
Have started some burundi bears which are really cute and I'm loth to part with them already!
Lainey, the blankets look lovely, you've done a brilliant job of sewing them up, they just look so great.
They remind me of a website I saw a while ago, where they were a group of knitters who each made two squares for every other member in whatever colourway chosen, and they all ended up with a "friendship blanket". I loved the idea of all those people getting together over a common hobby, and here we are doing the same.
Well done to everyone on here.:T :T :T

Hi Pol - thanks for the update - you've done really well! The Burundi Bears are lovely, aren't they? In some of the poorest countries, children don't know what it's like to have even one toy they can call their own so it's fantastic to think that we can change that. The teddies must become very special to their new owners.
I shall update the totals now.
Latest Update:
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Hi all - me again! I have just edited my sig and, as Mrs Moneypenny predicted, the running totals are getting very long so I have had to take out the reference to the blankets. From now on the sig will only carry details of the current projects - the baby items and the Innocent Smoothies. I shall go back in to the first post and add the HTA and Smoky and the Smokelets blankets in there instead. After all, they were what started this in the first place and will always be important and something we can be very proud of!

hi all.
not sure if any one has seen the link on loving hands, they have been asked to knit some "teddies for tragedy" they are needed asap as the children will be taking them back to africa in july i think.
the link to the pattern is teddiesfortragedies.org.uk if any one is interested in doing any for this or making it our next challenge.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi MrsMoneypenny - thanks for that. I was going to start something else but I'll do a teddy first. I looked at Loving Hands early this morning and must have missed the mention. I did look at the Summer Donations - once I had located the thread - and the posts are very impressive, aren't they? I still find it amazing how many people will take such time and trouble to make things for those in need. It's really heartwarming when all we seem to hear about in the news is the bad side of human nature. I'm off to find some wool now for a teddy.
It would also be great for a new challenge - the looks on the faces of the children on the Teddies for Tragedy site is enough motivation!

Hi there
The totals are brilliant. I'm feeling a bit shamed faced as I haven't managed any knitting for several weeks now! I have already divulged on teh daily thread, but i haven't managed any knitting because I've been really ill with morning sickness (except it's all day sickness in my case!)I'm very excited as now I can start knitting baby clothes as soon as I start feeling better, but it brings the subject of children closer to my heart, so will be continuing with this project as well!!!!
feel free to bombard me with baby patterns that you've tried and tested and I'm going to try and start on a teddy for tragedy this weekr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Congratulations from this post too R mACTry and do a good deed every day.0
