Hi there - this is another chance to congratulate you, R.Mac, on your wonderful news! Please don't feel bad for not knitting lately - you have other things going on at the moment.

Pippa - thanks for the update!

I have started my first teddy - I was knitting whilst I had my DGS 8yo round and he was showing me something on the computer and we were laughing and hugging each other; it struck me how well looked after he is by his lovely Mum and Dad and how much he has compared to the little mites we are knitting for. Every child should have the same quality of life; they all have a right to a peaceful and happy childhood and it is so sad to think that some are suffering things we cannot imagine. I'm so glad to be making this teddy - I try and imagine a little boy like my DGS owning it. It has made it really personal to me and I hope to knit many more.

    Well - off to update.

    Latest Update:

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Good morning everyone - just popping in here to post a link to a site I've just found for some more baby hats, mittens and so on - take a look at Sherrin's Bunny Hat and the Happy Hat - they're so cute I shall have to make at least one of each!

    http://www.p2designs.com/Links-CharityPatterns.htm

I made a good start on my Teddy for Tragedy yesterday but two long phone calls in the evening prevented me from finishing it! I shall try and get it done today. I'm making one in blues for a boy and will make one in pinks and lilacs for a girl. It's such a simple pattern but produces great results.

    Will catch up later.

    Kathy

Edited to post this link to several other links! http://www.angels4preemies.com/preemiepatternlinks.html I have also added these links to the very first post on this thread.

congratulations thats wonderful news r.mac:T .

i've finished my first teddy and made a start on another one. you are spot on with what you said kathy when we think of the love security (and possessions) our own children have its heartbreaking to think that there are children in the world who have so little and face uncertain futures.
i was worried my teddy looked a bit lame so i showed it to my daughter and asked her opinion, she sat playing with it for a while so i asked her for it back and she said she was just filling it with love and hugs so they could be passed on with it. (shes 16 next month, i hope she always stays that thoughtful)

well done on the fantastic totals everyone:T

i think the teddies need to be with 'loving hands' for the end of this month so they can go with the children

Oh, Mrs Moneypenny - thinking of your DD filling the bear with love and hugs brought tears to my eyes. I shall definitely do the same with each one I make - it's a wonderful thought. I can imagine all these teddies going off filled with love from us and sharing it with their new owners. Thanks for sharing that with us. She must be a special daughter.
