Hello again :) I've finished off another two hats today, they're surprisingly quick to knit but it's the pom-poms that are taking me forever lol (I cheated and put a tassel on one). I'm knitting them with rainbow wool which is a lot of fun, I'm knitting fast because I can't wait to get to the next colour! Anyway, that brings my total up to 3. Hopefully I should get a couple more done over the weekend.

I found this one on the lovinghands site yesterday
using 4mm needles cast on 108 stitches
    knit 9 rows (garter stitch)
change to 6mm needles an start pattern
every row is knit 1 (yfwd K2tog to end) the last stitch is knit.
once your work is 22 inches long change back to 4mm needles do another 9 rows of knit (garter stitch) and cast off.

Thissounds really quick and easy mrs-moneypenny, when I have finished the corner to corner blanket I am working on I will give it a go.:D

Can I just ask you, on the c/c blanket how many stitches do you get up to when you use the 2 -100g balls, and what size in inches is it when the first 100g ball is finished?

ooo what a long question....hope you dont mind:o

Hi all - Gingernutmeg - are all your hats the Innocent Smoothie ones? I need to know which running total to add them too! Well done - you're doing great! I don't think it matters whether they have tassels or pom-poms!

Pippa and Mrs Moneypenny - the blankets you are doing sound lovely! I found a lovely pattern for one the other day - I'll look it out tomorrow (I'm doing payroll right now - I'd much rather be knitting!) and post the link.

Many thanks to all of you.

Hi Chalky - 21 hats! That's amazing! Well done. I shall update the running totals in a mo. It would be great if your friend could join in as well!

Mrs Moneypenny and Pippa - I've just found the link to the baby blanket pattern that I mentioned - I think it's a lovely design. I haven't made it yet but it's on my list.

Anyway, off to update! Gingernutmeg - I'll add your two hats to the Innocent Smoothie totals - if they are for the preemie hats, please let me know and I'll alter the totals.

    Latest Update:

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Yes, sorry, they're all smoothie hats - that's the only reason why I'm getting through them so fast as once you've knitted one, they're so simple that it's easy to remember what you're doing!

editted as he woke so i managed to get hold of it
I don't mind at all Pippa. Its about 130ish stitches across the middle row and finishes 30 inches square.
DD suggested it would make a good size if you made 4 and sewed them together.

I finished my holey blanket last night that is 30inch by 24inch, its a nice soft blanket thats warm as it has a waffley finish.

im sure yours will look lovely once its done. what colour are you doing?
im making a rainbow random one next to sew to his green square.
I keep pulling it in along side my baby bits for loving hands.

Kathy i've completed 2 more baby hats.

Thanks mrs_moneypenny, :T I am up to around 90sts now so there`s still a bit to go.
I`m using a lovely soft lilac for one half and pink for the other, they look good together in the ball so should be ok when I change over colours.
They were 89p each from Wilkinsons and the lilac ball is 120gr, which surprised me.
I think your DD has a good idea, and what a lovely big blanket that would make :D
Have you had a look at the links moiliere posted? some lovely things on it:D

    Hi Kathy
Thanks for the links, I`ve just had a look through them, wow so many to choose from, I just want to do them all....I must be strong and finish what I am doing first, otherwise I will end up with lots of starts and no finishes:rolleyes:

I found some fluffy type wool(about 100gr) the other day, in random autumn colours and knitted a wide scarf that can be used around the shoulders as well, sort of like a stole, it was done on huge needles and grew very quickly, I just wanted to use it up really,I hate leaving wool around when it can be turned into something useful for someone.

Do you think it will be ok for a Loving hands donation?
