welcome to all the new knitters in here.

Kathy my totals are now 14 prem hats and 4 smoothie hats.

i had a constructive sunday and finished the fishermans rib baby cardi for loving hands and my sons green square its a bit small but he said he can sleep with his knees bent:rotfl: , i think ill add 3 more to it and make him a decent size one eventually.

ive just started another little prem cardi as lou form loving hands set me some buttons from her charity stash so i feel i need to knit things with buttons for a whilt now so they get used on stuff for her.

HI Mrs Moneypenny - thanks for the update - you are doing phenomenally well! Your totals are fantastic! Bless your little boy! He sounds gorgeous offering to sleep with his knees bent. I bet he loves his square!

How nice of Lou to send you some buttons; I must look at the cardis as well, really. I finished a hat last night and meant to start another one but, having spent hours looking online and in my pattern collection for a sheep pattern (for My DS2 and his bride-to-be - she is sheep mad and I am knitting them one each as part of their wedding present - they get married in August!), I couldn't wait to start it! I really have too many things on the go now and should be more patient!

    Anyway, I will update now!

How do you all knit so fast - it has taken ages just to knit two hats!!!

Will try to start a third hat tonight. Am using bright red wool as thatis what I have and also because some countries think white is unlucky.

Have a vague memory that red is supposed to be a colour of good fortune so let's hope it helps.

    Morning everybody:hello:
Welcome Gingernutmeg you will like it here we are a very friendly bunch:D

Good luck to you r.mac in your new job.

mioliere I agree about the T/D and yes you are right it is difficult to get now, I usually get some from Morrisons in a pack of 4.

O by the way the trouble I`ve had with bevs crochet hats, is just the size they seem to be coming up quite small and I wondered if they are too small,I undid it and will give it another try later.

Sorry mioliere I have just realised I havent posted my new totals:o
well ...I have now done 5....premmie hats and 6..... IS hats.

Very OS, I have used 7 different colours on the last IS hat, as I had a real jumble of bits in the bottom of my knitting bag, just enough for 1 row each, and you know what.. it looks quite good, colourful too very Mexican type colours;)

Most of the bits were tapestry wool,I thought it would be better used on IS hats than baby ones, as it is pure wool, and quite thick.

Hi all - Pippa - perhaps you could try a bigger hook or even add, say, 6 more dc's to the first row which would give you more stitches in each of the increasing rows.

Your Mexican hat sounds lovely! You must post a photo on Yahoo or here!

ELONA - I'm crocheting most of my hats now because crochet grow more quickly! I'm fitting in other projects as well, for presents, but don't want to stop making things for charity. I'd make mine faster but I do have a tendency to doze off quite often!

    Anyway, off to update again!

Hi Pippa - thank you so much for the link to the sheep pattern! He's really cute; I'm going to invest in some good quality wool for it. I am also going to have to order some of the gorgeous wooden sheep buttons! I shall knit a handbag for my future DIL for Christmas as an excuse to use them!

    Many thanks!
