Ok, now no laughing you lot!:D I have made a start on my square. I had to give up the first go, unravel it and start again. 40 stitches was about right for me and i have to remember not to hold the wool too tight:rolleyes:

Here are my efforts so far. No holes, but its a bit 'wiggly':rotfl: and certainly doesn't live up to others work on here, but for a first effort I'm quite pleased. The knitting videos were brilliant and helped me learn to cast on.

Hi everyone! R.MAC - that is brilliant for a first attempt. I admire you for your perserverence; perfect colour too! You'll soon look back and wonder why you found it a struggle, I promise!

KAY PEEL - The Wooligans IS good, isn't it? Sort of sums us up! I'm noting all the suggestions down ready for a vote in a week or so.

I have yet to hear anything from either Help the Aged or OECS but I expect they are extremely busy so will not pester them just yet. I will leave it until midweek next week and try them again, so keep knitting and, BENTHOSBOY - we want your contribution as well!

Knitting square is quite relaxing really although I'm not sure R.MAC will agree just now. She will soon.

Hope everyone is keeping warm in this freezing cold weather - I remember last Easter was cool but bright and sunny. I don't think we'll be that lucky this year!
