ooops been a bit naughty. I was going to knit a preemie hat, but sat down and knitted a pair of mittens instead - oops! However, these will go to loving hands though once I have made the matching hat :D not sure we can count them in our totals so I had better get on with that hat!!!!

  • hi folks,
kathy, can you give your mum a huge kiss from me? the teddies arrived today and they are absolutely gorgeous! I had to wrestle them out of my DD's hands and she's 19!! the smokelets are going to love them too, I'm sure of it.
R-mac, well done to you , you're doing great.
Hi to everyone else, I think the least said about the football the better eh?I was upset when I went through manchester city centre this morning though but the clean up crew have done themselves proud and the city was almost back to normal by 5pm!
anyhoo, off to sew a bit more, i didn't do any last nite so need to catch up.
    bye for now, Lainey XXXXXXXX

Hi Lainey - I'm glad the teddies got there. I've got the pattern somewhere and will send you a copy for you (or your DD) to knit! You are never too old for a teddy, my Mum says! She said it's such an easy pattern to follow. You are doing a wonderful job with the blankets, Lainey - I still worry that it's been a lot of extra work for you.

I was upset to see what had happened in Manchester last night - I couldn't believe what I saw on the news. The workers have done a magnificent job cleaning it up but it's such a shame to see a wonderful city like that trashed.

R.MAC - I think it's a good idea to count in any other items we are knitting for Loving Hands - I'll update the list with your mittens.

I would love to be sat down knitting right now but I'm in the middle of doing payroll for DH (and it's doing my head in like it always does!)

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Hi Lainey - it's me again! I was going to post the Burundi Bear pattern to you but then I thought it would be better to post the link instead - it gives information about the project they are being knitted for. I don't think the charity will mind the bears being knitted for other deserving causes, though!

Anyway, here's the link - I think I'll have a go at making some. They do a crochet version, too, but I can't remember if you crochet or not:confused: ? If you do, let me know and I'll post the link to that one, too! http://www.facilitaid.com/_resources/BurundiBear_PatternInfoSheet.pdf

Hi Beth - hope your arms aren't too painful today and that you have rested up from all that gardening and makeovering!

Here is the link to the hat patterns on the Loving Hands site http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/patterns.htm. All the other patterns are there as well and, if you go to the home page, there are links to other sites with loads more patterns!

I hope you have a great weekend with your parents!

Hi Kathy,:hello: thanks for the link, he is so cute.
I have added it to my knitting folder, which I started when all the links to the patterns were being posted.
I have quite a few now.

Trouble is ...I keep seeing new ones and want to start them straight away:rotfl:
then I end up with several projects on the go all at once. But must say, I find it very satisfying as each one is finally finished off and I end up with a nice little pile ready to be sent off.
