Hi Pippa
That's a good point about the type of wool; many little ones are allergic to it.
It's a shame your tapestry wool is thicker than DK but hopefully it will work for Smoothie hats. Also, maybe you could use it for pom-poms? Failing that, you may just have to do a tapestry!

Hi all,
Lainey I have posted 5 squares to you this morning so hopefully you should have them tomorrow. I have started another and am quite happy to do more. Please don't worry about my arms, yes they're painfull but not all the time and I find that when I'm keeping busy it takes my mind off them. I'm just pleased to be part of this lovely group. Talking of worrying I think you are doing so much .......... you really are a Gem :A

Hi Kathy,
Could you update my total of STC hats please i have now done 2, a little bit slow i know but i shall rectify that now that my other projects are finished.
Our local wool shop has had a signed photo and a nodding Buster from Paul O'Grady to display in the window as out of 20,000 hats that have been knitted 1000 have been done locally here with another 300 expected to be done by the end of May....the local newspaper says one lady has knitted 130 of the hats for STC....wow thats some going.
anyway must dash

Hi Beteh - I've posted on the Daily to you but I want to say that, although you obviously love knitting, please put your arms first - you sound as determined as me but I don't need any ops! I shouldn't knit or type so much with my tendonitis but I'd go mad if I couldn't. It does take your mind of the pain, funnily enough, but your condition sounds really serious and I'd hate it to get worse. Thanks for the extra squares, by the way - you're a star!
Tonight I'm planning to alternate between a crochet hat and a knitted monkey (for a birthday present); I've been knitting a duckling for a duck-mad friend and just have to sew his beak and webbed feet on and make him a hat!
Anyway, I'd better go and pack the shopping away (yawn, yawn, yawn!).
Catch up with you all later.

Kathy, thanks for the post on the daily, sorry to hear you have tendonitis that is just as painful I bet, we do seem to be alike. I will not give in I call it determination, my DH calls it Bl**dy mindedness either way I like to keep busy pain or no pain and like I said I don't have it all the time, it comes and goes. I do enjoy doing my bit for Smoky and the Smokelets, only wish I could do more to help. Take care and take it easy.

morning all! I'm so pleased that the sun has decided to come out today again!! I've been sat in my office sweltering for the last few days praying that it would keep going over the weekend lol!! radio has just said today might be the best day of the year so far..
anyhoo, I've put 1st wash in and am now sat with the patio doors wide open, a coffee in hand listening to the birds, thats what I call a good start to the day lol!!
Beth, hopefully postie will bring your squares today, pol has said that she is bringing 4 up to my house today as she lives only a few minutes away.I hope I'm in when she comes as it will be lovely to put a face to an mse name( is that the correct english, an mse name ? I'm sure someone will be able to correct me ),so that should be all that I need to complete the set. My sincere thanks go out to everyone who has offered to send more squares , perhaps they can go to Loving hands for animal blankets?
right, going to go and make myself look human, thats the next step down from presentable for me at weekend lol!! ttfn folks ,LaineyXXXXXXX

Hi Pink - thanks for the update - I'll add your two hats to the total. Please don't think you've been slow doing them - we all have other things going on in our lives and I don't want this to take over and make anyone feel they have to put the hats first! You must have something in the air in your area - that's a fantastic achievement and the lady who has knitted 130 hats must be an octopus!
Beth, I know what you mean about the b****y-mindedness - that's what my DH says about me! Your first post on the OS Daily did make me laugh - you sounded shocked and worried all at the same time!
Lainey - I do hope the weather stays good for you and it will be lovely if you can meet Pol! I'm glad you now have enough squares - you must be seeing them in your sleep by now!
The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.
