  • hi folks, thank you so much for your kind words,(blush) it's a pleasure doing this and i'm really grateful to the lovely folk who have offered to help make up the shortfall in squares.
I need 19 squares to enable me to finish the 2 remaining blankets ( 1 smokeys and 1 boy smokelet)but definitely will have the girl smokelet blanket done this week. They come together really quickly once you have sorted out which colour goes where and made sure there aren't two the same next to each other (which I have done and had to undo lol)

anyway, gonna go and do a bit more
    lots of love

Hi Lainey - thanks, yet again, for all your hard work. You are doing a fantastic job!
Catznine - I will update to include your latest hat; thank you so much.

The first figures are for the STC (Save the Children) hats and the second is for the (IS) Innocent Smoothie hats which we can do in readiness for the go ahead of Sainsbury's next campaign.

Well, I am about to start another 'half-hour' crochet hat!

Oooh Kathy, do you have the pattern for the crochet hats posted somewhere? I've been hunting about, but haven't settled on one yet, and yours sounds ideal :-)

My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    Hi Jill

Here is the link to the hat pattern; someone else on here posted the original link a few pages back. Have a look at the rest of the site (you'll need to click into the little banner which says Bev's Country Cottage, above where it says Bev's Blog, on the top left of the page)- there are enough projects to keep someone going for about 30 years! They are really easy to follow simple patterns and this particular hat takes me around half an hour. I'm going to try the bootees next! http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/hats-hats-hats.html

Hi Lovetoshop - you've done well! All 7" squares are going to OECS (Operation Elderly Charity Stitches) - there are several addresses all of which are in the very first post in this thread. The only name on the list not taking squares at the moment is Naomi Rainford because her baby is due any moment now!
