They won't have taken away all your NCD.
You can only have a maximum of 5 years (irrespective of how many years in total you have since a claim).
So pending your insurer recouping any money they have paid out on your claim, your NCD will (correctly) go down to 3 years. (A month is too soon to expect this matter to be finalised - if there is no argument about the third party being liable, you could have avoided making the claim by dealing with the third party directly, when your NCD would have been unaffected).
If you want to go elsewhere, then tell them you don't want to autorenew, and ask them to send you proof of your NCD as it stands now. Then if subsequently they do get fully reimbursed and restore your NCD to the maximum you should be able to get a premium adjustment off your new insurer to reflect this.
They have dropped my no claims down to 1 year. It is written on my renewal policy.0 -

The price was good compared to other insurers, however they do have a ridiculous £350 "new driver???!?! excess"
This is a compulsory excess, and will be on top of any voluntary excess you have taken. (So in the event of a claim, you may face a much higher excess than this £350)
This compulsory excess for young/inexperienced drivers (and all the other restrictions they have imposed on you) is the norm amongst motor insurers for drivers under 25.0 -

Taking swiftcover to the ombudsman as I type this. IMHO they are a dreadful company, be very careful if you insure with them.0

After trying to cancel the policy with Swiftcover within the 14 days - at no penalty (so it says in the 'small print') they wanted to charge me a £25 'admin fee'.
On top of this, they did not respond to phone calls, keeping me on hold for periods of between 8 and 40 minutes at 10p/min, and then being as unhelpful as possible!
After three weeks, they then said that I would lose a further 15% of the premium paid due to the policy not being cancelled within the proscribed time!
They are still sending me reminders of proof of my NCD for a policy which I cancelled both in writing and by phone within the first 14 days!
As someone said earlier, "Do not touch them with a very long bargepole!"
