Anyone used swiftcover?

I used them yes they were cheap, but due to a mix up with a payment going into the bank the installment was not paid.
It was 2 weeks before i had a letter and called them straight away to pay it but they said it was too late and were cancelling the policy.
They just wouldn't accept any money and they did cancell.
I would not recommend them at all.0 -
I to agree that you should use swiftcover at you peril! Unfortunately I chose to change to swiftcover from more than simply because it was cheaper. I immediately had problems with them when they asked me to send proof of my NCD, eventually after sending it for the 3rd time and having real problems with their customer service (not responding to emails, not answering phones, unhelpful staff) I heard no more about the matter. Now 7 months later I recieved a letter informing me they never recieved the NCD and they would be withdrawing over £200 from my account within 7 days, when phoning them I was informed that in fact it took 6 days for me to recieve the letter and that the money was being withdrawn the next day. After a struggle with staff I was given less than a week to sort the matter, amazing since it took 6 days for their letter to arrive (7 months to inform me). Yet again More than were more than helpful with excellent customer service but I can not possibly get the NCD to them in time to stop the money coming out my account. I have found my whole experience with Swiftcover appalling and I will now be cancelling my policy to go back to more than. Unfortunately £50 cheaper is certainly not worth it the lack of service is not worth such a small saving.0

You can always count on Money Saving Expert users to give you feedback!
Was just about to sign up with them and I thought, I will just check to see if anyone at MSE has any experience of them and here it is!
Now need to decide what to do.... Save just under 100 quid and hope I don't crash or go with Direct Line and go with the fact I know the brand....
back to square one!
edit plus I just saw that you get £45 cash back from Quidco!
Edit again.... just seen that with churchill if get 60 quid cash back so will go with them0 -
Both Hubby and I are with them due to the £50 cashback incentive at the beginning of the year. He's fully comp, I'm 3rd party (cos car value ain't worth going fully comp).
I had an accident, (not at fault) and swiftcover have basically been nowhere to be seen. The phone lines are constantly busy, you can't get through and all the emails I've had were basically telling me that they weren't gonna do anything about it, which is fair enough cause I'm 3rd party but surely all I was asking them was to update me on what was going on with other party.
I don't really think they've been great and I've learnt my lesson, next time I'm taking legal cover at the very least and perhaps I will think twice about getting the cheapest deal.0 -

I am a little confused by your posting. You have Third Party to prevent you being bankrupted by an accident that is your fault?
Your insurance company stands behind you not in front of you.
Presumably, as the RTA was not your "fault" Swift cover is not involved in any way?
Are you trying to recover damages from the other party that hit you ?0 -
I have had a really bad experience with this company, I was looking via uswitch for insurance for my self on a T reg Corsa to enable my daughter to learn to drive, in the on line form with Uswitch there is a drop down allowing you to choose how much no claims you have, one of the choices was (is) 5 years company car driver, which I selected, completed the form and set off the search. Swiftcover responded with a "good price" which I accepted and paid for immediately. But later found out to my cost that they were offering me insurance assuming I had 5 years no claims discount, even though I did not select that option, the insurance offer was therefore not valid and they wanted a further £400+ to cover me and the wife and a further £1,100+ to cover myself my wife and my daughter. Then they had the audacity to charge me £25 to cancell the policy.
My advice to you is steer well clear of these people and search engines!!!!!0 -

I am still confused (and disappointed that you have not explained the situation):
Is the other party trying to claim off you, even though it was their fault?
If so the best thing that Swiftcover can do for you is write back to the driver who hit you, saying "get lost you were at fault.............."
What makes you think that a claims handling company can do a better job than you can do for yourself, they would not have been there, when the accident happened?
Have you got a witness?
I think we all need more information before we can agree with your rating of Swiftcover.

my dad has been with swiftcover for just under a year and at first they were ok, no probs at all, but when he went to tax his car the post office wouldnt accept his insurance document, so he had to do his tax over the phone, dont know if it was post office fault or swiftcover but just thought i'd add this to the forum...
