A update for anyone interested...
My courtesy car took an extra week to get arranged despite many calls & emails again from me. Swiftcover blamed Enterprise Car Rentals, but I know this is a shared issue as the Swiftcover communications in general are lousy.
My car can't be fixed as promptly as originally promised due to a parts supply problem (not Swiftcover's fault), so I'm due to be without any transport after the end of this week. This is because the Swiftcover courtesy car will be maxed out at 14 days (in any one claim), unless I pay extra myself of course...
I could never use Swiftcover again or recommend them because of the severe delays and lack of comms regarding my claim. The frustrating bit is that you COULD get good service if only you could find the right contact in Swiftcover. Best of luck if you decide to try and don't be shy with emails to complaints@swiftcover.com, after taking a written record of all your attempted or successful interactions with their staff.0 -
sent a complaint to complaints dept @swiftcover ,guess what ,no reply, not even an automated reply over a week now0

I've been speaking with friends who first recommended me to Swift, they've all said there really happy with the service, upon which I now have my car insured with them.
I also got the £50 cash back offer as advertised on http://www.swftcover.com0 -
Hi - last week they were taken over by Axa who say they will continue it as a separate operation,
Expect a few changes in pricing as their acquisition costs per punter were £100.00 ie the cost in advertising per new policy was £100.00.
The industry norm for this is around £25.00 per new customer0 -
I insured my car with them as they were the cheapest by about £100.
Hope everything goes okay, but my experience to date has been good (forgot my user name and couldn't get onto 'my space' to download some documents - a very friendly and efficient CS lady helped me out with no problems)
I went through rpoints, but it hasn't shown up as points pending. Must chase that up.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
we have been with them over a year now and havent had any problems but saying that we havent had to make a claim, they were considerably cheaper than any other site, now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

Would say for motor that the norm is much higher than £25 per policy.
There will certainly be changes in operations with the acquisition by Axa (assuming they get regulatory approval for the purchase) - no one buys a competitor and then continue to run the two companies identically to how they were before as, if nothing else, you dont need double the central functions like HR, Finance, Project Management etc as you have the economies of scale. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Hi Swiftcover,
If you are reading this, I insured with you on 03mar07 and today tried to renew my tax using the new on line system (I don't think "Gordon" is going to reduce my 135 GBP tax next wednesday !)
The government's records show that I am driving around uninsured.
This would be a joke, but where I live the roads are alive with registration recognition cameras and attendant squad cars, itching to crush dodgy cars.
I could do without that sort of hassle from the old bill.
So how long does it take for you to process my records?
Even inefficient UK banks manage to process a cheque in 4 days.
Anyone in the car insurance business like to comment on how long it takes to update the official records ?0 -
I think the insurer has to update the MID within 14days of going on cover.0
