    Thanks Teerah

I think I might try the toothpaste. My main problem is sucking real fruit lollies as I find they cool me down (I'm at that age!) but I will remember not to brush my teeth straight after.

Hi any help on this would be appreciated!

I was told by my dentist to use duraphat toothpaste, (which of course they sell!!) but I cant' find it anywhere else to buy, it's about a fiver a tube which is a bit costly for me!!

If anyone knows where I could buy this cheaper I would be really grateful! In fact if anyone knows of where I could buy it other than my dentist (who is 200 miles away - don't ask!) I would be very grateful!!!!

    It's all under control!
  • If there is a medical reason for using it, it's available on prescription.

Speak to your friendly pharmacist. I think there is also a 'generic' version available which is likely to be cheaper.

Ive been using Duraphat for a couple of years and the only place I can ever find it is at the dentist. Having said that its worth every bit of the £5 it costs as I havnt had any dental work since I started using it

I didnt realise they did duraphat toothpaste but it should be good. I worked as a dental nurse for 25 years and we used to put duraphat on sensitive teeth, they have obviously now brought it out in a toothpaste which is great news as it was really good stuff!!! I would imagine the only place is from the dentist, I certainly havent seen it anywhere and It would have caught my eye straight away

have tried at chemists - no luck; guess the only place is at the dentist; however depending on the dental problem may not need to use for a long time i.e somtimes 2 tubes a year is sufficient.

I've bought from that website myself this summer for a load of Zirtec equivalent tablets and the service was excellent :)

I think it worth pointing out though that when postage is added, these are quite a bit more expensive than the price at the dentist!

If you are eligable for free prescriptions, this would be the cheapest way to aquire it, otherwise, just buy it at the dentist.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
