I also joined the monthly pass as it does save money...my only hesitation was that actually handing cash over at the meeting seems more like spending money to me than a direct debit which I tend to forget about.
But so far so good, 12lbs in 6 weeks.
I do think going to the meetings is a big help - somehow getting on the scale with someone else making a note of my weight is more of an incentive for me than weighing myself...plus I hate having scales at home as I'll get on them 13 times a day.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I have let myself down this morning. As off work sick pottered about and then ate:
2 bags iced gems = 3 points
1 WW rice pudding = 1.5 points
1 Cadbury's cream egg = 3.5 points
1 WW toffee bar = 1.5 points
But the Irish stew for tea is in the sow cooker and smells great = 6.5 pointsJosey0 -

oooh, that sounds lovely...if you'd be willing to PM me the recipe I would be grateful - LOVE the slow cooker to death and always looking for new recipes.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
My Irish Stew recipe:
500g lean leg of lamb diced
1 tbs cornflour
1 tbs mixed herbs
900g pototoes
4 medium carrots diced
1 onion diced
4 tbs dried pearl barley
Stock to cover
I point it at 6.5 if serving 4, but could easily serve 6 at 4.5 points.Josey0 -

Hi All,
I've been a lurker on MSE for months but this is my first post!
I have just bought the monthly pass online and going to go to a meeting tomorrow morning which I'm dead nervous about as I dont really know what to expect and I'm really shy.
I have about 3 stone to lose I think and had a fairly tough last 12 months and pretty much been comfort eating my way through it. I left my OH about 2 months ago (although we are trying to make it work and 'dating' again now but thats a whole other issue I have to deal with!) but have decided to take control I'm so miserable. I need more confidence and I thought losing some weight might be a start? I figure I'm 28 and should be out having fun; its a mates birthday tomorrow and I dont want to go out cos I dont have any clothes that fit anymore, went to some clothes shops yesterday and it just upset me so here I am! Sorry for wibbling on and sounding sorry for myself.
So please may I join you guys?
Thanks for listeningx
Really should be doing some work...0 -
Hi pudding
Im new to this ww thing too!
Ijoined today, I have done sw before and hated the quorn! Nasty stuff. WW appeals to me because I can eat any food, crumpets for tea..yum!
I am going to be following this thread so any advice will be welcome.
I have just been food shopping and bought plenty of veg, fruit and some ww frozen puds!!! will look forward to them tonight!:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
Welome Puddings (great name).
I have now lost 2 stone with WW meetings, and love the group I attend as they are so friendly and helpful.
Today I have sorted out my now too big clothes and shall be giving them to my sister and / or charity shop this weekend. I dont want to be tempted to slide back into them.
Partner has agreed that we shall be getting married next year (we have been engaged 2 years now and living together 8 years). I think my recent health scare (heart) as given us both a wake up call. So that should help me with the motivation to lose a couple more stones.Josey0 -
Thanks for the welcome guys!
Josey thats great motivation for you, congrats on the wedding and the weightloss.
I have, unfortunately, spent the day eating EVERYTHING in the house whilst i've been studying but now its all gone ready for tomorrows first meeting and shopping trip.
There's been a million days where I've started a diet and lasted a couple of days but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is it!Really should be doing some work...0 -
Weigh in this morning and put on 1/2 pound, which is not as bad as was expecting, since I am off work still, and not allowed to do any exercise at all.Josey0
