Well, I am giving this thread an almighty bump!
Starting WW tomorrow, but going it alone since time restrictions are preventing me from getting to a meeting. This is my third attempt. The first time I lost a stone and a half in six weeks and then went to America on holiday and gained it all back again. The second time my heart wasn't really in it.
I was spurred on to do this because I have a job interview in the next week and I raided my wardrobe looking for something suitable to wear. I tried on a pair of high waisted trousers that I got about a year ago and they looked hideously tight, whereas before they looked really nice. Then I tried a pair of black trousers that fit fine about a year ago and now don't fasten! Needless to say I was devastated! That being said, it spurred me on to just get on with the WW plan, and I am feeling quietly confident about jumping back on to the wagon again.0 -
I have tried sw but have decided to try ww from home any tips from anyone in forumland?May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce

Keep a note of everything that you eat. Either write it down or put it in the online planner. Its amazing what you forget you have eaten if you don't keep track.
Oh, and get one of the little points calculators. Makes supermarket shopping so much easier and cheaper as it means you can work out points yourself instead of taking the easy option and buying the pricey WW branded food.
I've lost 15lb so far, so it must work!0 -
Hi im starting ww on monday just need some tips as i am not attending meetings.
Anyone know if i would be able to eat fish and chips, if so how many points is that?0 -
Medium cod in batter and chips is 14.5 points from a fish & chip shop...you can probably do better if you go the frozen fish and chips route if that would suit you, or save up some points for a nice treat.
Ultimately you can have almost anything you want but you may have to plan for it by saving some points from other days.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
my first weigh in today and i've lost 3lb!
i'm quite pleased... now i just have to keep going this week - i normally fail because i have one good week and then get bored and give up!!0 -
hi everyone,
i have been following weightwatchers for about a month now and have been aiming for 18 points a day as this is what i worked out i'm allowed. (i have all the info just not going to meetings) My problem is i have only lost 3lb in all this time. I am exercising as well but i don't think that is stopping the weight coming off because i look no different to when i started and my clothes don't feel any different.
Is anyone following weight watchers without exercise and still managing to lose weight?0 -

I don't do a lot of exercise and I am losing...one thing I see and hear suggested a lot is to watch your portions - make sure you're checking the weights of what you're eating, etc. as it can make a bit difference and I know I was surprised when I stuck to weighing things. Our leader told us a story about a girl who plateaued and just couldn't get anymore weight to shift...the girl happened to love bananas and had 2 or 3 a day...when they really looked into it to see what the problem might be it turned out the bananas she was having were MASSIVE and at least 50% bigger than the 'medium' ones in the points guide...she switched to smaller bananas, and the weight came off.
Also, 3 pounds over a month is not bad - they say 1-2 pounds a week is healthy.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I agree as I would be over the moon if I lost 3lb. I'm unable to exercise either so I am using the ww plan to help with portion sizes as I really had lost touch with what was a "normal" amount .Am aiming for 1lb a week as I have got megamega amount to lose and I need all the encouragement I can get!!!!!May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce
