    Not exactly......
I first joined ww about 7 years ago, lost 3 st, got pregnant, gained 3, joined again lost 4st, got pg, gained 4, joined again lost 6st and got to goal just over 12 months ago. In the process I became a leader but had to give it up as it didn't fit in with family committments, now gained a bit of weight back after not being committed enough (summer hols, xmas etc no excuse) so I'm back again. I'm not attending meetings tbh I've heard it all before and got a bit of ww fatigue IYKWIM! I do it online, track weight & points, I've also signed up for lose 1/2 in Jan & Feb threads as I know that I need to be accountable to someone and that seems to be working atm. I know that its something that has to be constant in my life, its not a short term fix and I have to commit to it constantly (although I do rebel quite often:o )

BTW, todays food diary IS good thats why I posted it......:rotfl: its not normally!

    Welcome to all the joiners!!!!!

So glad we're getting this thread off the ground :j

I stayed the same this week - not bad since I started to count properly yesterday - hoping for a much bigger loss next week...

    Wish me luck.

BTW a Med sized potato is 250 grams, I think any kind of potato is 1 point per 100 grams raw weight.

glad to have you all on board - keep the posts coming.
  • I joined ww in 2005 and lost 3 stone then went mad and gained 6 stone haha! deaing with it now though. Hot.chick do u go to meetings?
  • Hello all!

I would like to join the group please:j
I am currently doing rather badly having only lost 4lb's since January 1st. I have joined online in the hope that because it cost money I would do it properly:rolleyes:
Unfortunately I can not leave the crisps and wine alone and I think I have wrecked my metabolism with diets which don't suit me.
It looks like I have the most to lose on here and I am so ashamed of myself for getting to this size. It's nearly a year ago since I went to the Doctors (a few weeks after giving birth) to get help with my weight and be checked over as I had severe anemia. All he had to say was "Well I should think you should lose weight immediately, you are after all carrying the weight of two people. You must eat more fruit and vegetables and exercise."
I went home in tears and did what I always do...comfort ate.:o

I have a minimum of 7 stone to lose.

  • Hi all :D

As you can clearly see from my sig, I am a SW bunny at the moment, although I did lose 3 stone with WW (points) before I joined SW to shift the last 2 stone... (so, nearly 5 stones lost altogether - quite a journey!) - I like both systems (WW and SW), but for different reasons :D

As I am coming to my (final) target, I have a lot of learning to do with regard to maintaining my weight, and I am seeing the 'discovery plan' being advertised around and about - I wonder whether this could be something for me to learn about to help my new maintainance journey...

I know points and no count off by heart, but would anyone be able to (simply) describe to me the jist of 'discovery' please?

awww Millymoomoo.... see if your doctor will refer you like a previous poster - you might be able to get 12 weeks for free!!!

And YES I do go to meetings - I'm actually a clerk, I sell all the books and the sweeties, have been going for about 5 years but do the points counting bit on and off. My meeting is on tuesday nights in Milton Keynes.

Did you try the Black Forest Bars. I have enjoyed them as a change, but my favourite is the toffe bars. I even have to buy a pack each week for my partner to take to work, or else we pinches mine.
Oh and the new Carrot cake slices in the shops are so yummy, and at only 1 point quite saintly.

  • Hi all! Last year I lost 2 stone on the Cambridge Diet. I don't know how I stuck with it but once the weight started falling off I felt really motivated to keep going. However, it is a quick fix diet and not long after you start eating conventional food even with good intentions, you start to have all the things you were craving when you were on the diet and slowly but surely it creeps back on. I have now gained 1 1/2 stone of it, the last 1/2 stone being over Christmas. Having done weightwatchers before, I joined again three weeks ago. The first week I lost 2 lb, the second week I had the 'January blues' and cheated so felt too ashamed to go and get weighed, and since then have just coasted along picking at stuff all day and stayed the same.

Having joined the 'Grocery Challenge' I am also conscious of the fact that Weight Watchers is £20 a month and if I am not doing really well, I feel its a waste of money. So from today I am going to have another go at 18 points per day. I don't want to bore my poor husband with diet chat, although he is very supportive it must be very boring to hear the same old stuff! So I'm glad I've found this thread because support from others in the same boat is really helpful. Rather than all the weight falling off like it did on the Cambridge Diet, I am going to try and eat 18 points a day and let the weight come off sensibly and with any luck, once I get to target I am more likely to stay there.

Bought a slow cooker this week and have done some lovely low points casseroles in it. Definitely worth the investment. Have a great day everyone :o

As usual there isn't anything different about the discovery plan, its just rebranding. Its still points and now they have 'removed' Core but call it filling foods and you can follow the Simply Filling technique (Core!). The only real change is the concept of Set Points, if you go to a resturant and have i.e. a steak they have set a value for that to make it easier to guess what it is, for example Set points for a steak = 4 pts. It takes into account the cooking process and any additions they might have used like oil, butter.
