  • Hi there

I am a WW virgin and am joining on Tuesday night although the class I will be going to is on a Wed morning.

I have been on a harsh "barely any food" diet for past few months but since school holidays started I have cheated a lot and put on over a stone of the 4 that I lost  so I need to start again. I cant face living on packet soups and milkshakes anymore, I want some real food. I drink a lot of water and prior to my summer holiday meltdown was doing exercise every day. I have just been on my cross trainer for 5 minutes and I am exhausted - not a good sign!

I am a size 14 albeit quite snug at the moment (I am 5ft 4), I started off life in March a size 20 but with losing a lot have become quite complacent about getting to my goal, I cant afford to gain anymore.

My sister in law started WW 2 weeks ago and lost 8.5lbs in the first week, she is on the core plan. I am not used to eating a lot, so it will be a shock to my system I think some normal regular food!

Can anyone give me any advice on WW ? Whats the kickstart programme ?
I drink around 2.5-3L of water a day as well

Thanks for any replies I get :o

Core is good but i think you may benefit from doing points as i feel youve been restricted in your food choices for so long..the points plan may be a really positive step for you!! Kickstart is a reduced points plan -it doesnt work for everyone though especially if you just started you may feel a bit hungry.

Drinking water is great..CONGRATS on your weightloss so far just think little steps!! You are nearly there!

    Good Luck

I can't get that link to work!

I didn't do kickstart as I felt I'd been unhealthy enough in recent weeks that the plan would be a kickstart enough. I'm doing Core and it honestly does not feel like a diet. I know that sounds cheesy but I have eaten loads and don't feel like it's taken over my life, which points has felt like in the past.

Good luck at MacDonalds- one unhealthy place I can resist!

it had freewebsdotcom in the middle or go on to weightwatches forum and search for noreen blackett.

I used to love core ..problem i found was i couldnt get back into points again and found it easier to cheat also hubby wont eat things like wheat pasta .

I do try and stay of bread so much though.

McDonalds was cr ap dont why i bothered with my little happy meal the cheeseburger just tasted yuk!! iim sure i used to like them. Kept kids quiet for 10 mins though!!

  • Hello everyone

Can anyone give me any recipes for 0 or very low point soups or stews?

I was thinking surely you should be able to make a stew or even a curry with 0 point vegetables, which would really help if you had to save points for a meal out in the evening for example. Any recipes or ideas?

I'll start the soups off. I made butternut squash last night:
    1 small Butternut squash,
    2 onions,
    1 veg stock cube,
black pepper and water all chucked in slow cooker and blitzed with hand blender when cooked.

... and carrot and corriander the night before:
    whoopsied carrot batons
an onion peeled and cut in half
stock cube, water & dried coriander leaf
again all bunged in the slow cooker and blended once done.

Both soups are 0 points as far as I can work out. I'm doing pumpkin tonight, but after that think I'll be a bit sick of orange coloured soups, so any tips for others are really really welcome!!:rotfl:
  • Would like to join you all. Joined ww today and would really like to make this diet work. good luck everyone.

    hi everyone, I'm Sarah :)

I've decided to start counting points again as of tomorrow, after the birth of my first child, I was thinner than ever, and started weight watchers to lose even more, I managed to lose another stone, and still had another stone to go, but lost interest. I then became pregnant again, and thought I'd lose weight again but sadly I put it on!! My little boy is now 7 months old, I bought some bathroom scales today and was shocked to find I need to lose 6 stone altogether!

I can't afford to go to meetings, I've worked out how many points I can have in a day but can't seem to find the book that I had with all the foods and points in!

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any low fat vegetarian ready meals? I went to tesco today and was shocked to find there was only vegetarian lasagne!

  • Hi Sarah!

Tesco light choices ones have the points somewhere on the packet - I picked up macaroni cheese the other day, 7.5 points. Special offer at £1 too. I think they do a tomato and mozarella one too.
  • This is the website someone mentioned earlier, it has loads of point values http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!/noreenblackett/

also this one is good as you can work your points out if you have the calories and sat fat content http://points.ogo.ms/

that top link doesnt work, its not the same address I put on but there is a message on her site saying ww are trying to close her down so maybe it cant be copy and pasted anymore, just google noreen blackett and its easy to find.

    Hi everyone

Mind if I join you all, need to loose 2 stone - have popped on a stone in the last year!! Start a new job tommorrow with regular normal hours so hoping my eractic eating will stop and have eaten all chocolate in the house this wkd so no tempting treats when I get in :)

I gained most of my weight from my 2nd pregnancy and lost a stone but it's all back on :( so look forward to some support. I am not attending meetings either as costly with 2 children and have taken a loss in pay to change career.
