13stone 12lb seems far more reasonable, and if you stay positive and stick to it you'll have that off in a month easy.
Well here's hoping, it will certainly be encouraging...although you all might get fed up of me quite quickly:)0 -
So in my first week I lost a measley 1pound - although I was wearing jeans this time rather than linen trousers which may have added, say 1 pound on (it was too cold!)... Well anyway, a pound is a pound. But my sister did really well, 5 pounds in her first week! Still a stone and a half heavier than me, but she's catching up fast!!
I was a little worried from the start it wouldn't work for me as I'm not a big eater anyway, and i have discovered that I rarely went over the points allowance anyway. I've signed up to the monthly pass so will give it a while before I write it off completely!0 -

When you were a kid and went to the shop would you have been happy with a pound of sweets? I reckon so, imagine 4 'quarters' of sweets in your hands, or imagine a pound of lard, almost 500g worth, two butter packs. A pound is pretty darn good, don't go minimising itGod is good, all the time

That's true, I am not knocking it at all - and I imagine actually it was nearer two pounds as I didn't think about the clothing until my sister pointed it out, also I was weighed at work on tuesday and they were very adamant their machine was calibrated daily - and it knocked 2 lb off... but I do think that I need to lower my daily points from 21 to about 18 in order to see proper results. Maybe 18 during the week and 21 at weekends?!0

1 pound is seeing results... You might want it to go faster but that wouldn't be weightwatchers then. To lose 1 pound means consuming 3500 calories fewer then you use over the course of a week. This means going down to 500 fewer than you would eat to remain at a steady weight or increasing your exercise. This should be achievable over the longer term, not a quick fix. If you are wanting to boost the loss then maybe look at increasing exercise not reducing food. I find it frustrating that the weight loss isn't really fast at times but I am re-educating myself and think it is more useful that way, or you will just resume the same patterns of eating, that is why lighterlife or the cambridge diet don't work in the long term.God is good, all the time

A lb is great result!! well done you!!
I agree with everything everyone said, weightwatcher isnt about losing weight fast, its about re-educating our eating habits. I love weightwatchersfeel like im in so much control this time around and i dont feel deprived one bit. Healthy options instead of going out of control. x

Yes, I know. I am probably just miffed that my sister managed to lose 5 - but then as she said herself, she's had to greatly reduce her intake of food whereas I haven't really - the only thing that I've done is given up booze during the week and that started weeks ago!
I agree that the points system is a great way to track but I can't see myself paying out for this long-term when it is something that I could easily do off my own back?
Re: exercise, I haven't even been to the gym or swimming this week because I've been ill - and usually I do both at least once. Maybe next week will be more rewarding!0 -

Get well soon!
I am terrible at doing exercise so that is something I need to work on!
Went for w.i. this morning; I am on a monthly pass so can attend as many as I want and am going to go monday and friday in the run up to Christmas to keep me more accountable. I lost 1/2 since Monday which is pretty good for me, another 1/2 by Monday would be good!God is good, all the time

Well done STG. And Fran, please keep your chin up-you've been loads of help and inspiration to me in the run up to my start date...I need you here. So like you know I had my first weigh in yesterday-this morning I was tracking and it said I hadnt put yesterdays weight in. When I did I got THE most pleasant surprise. When I first joined you here and bought my monthly pass, I weighed on our scale here at home and it gave me 92kg's-so I changed my settings to stones and added yesterdays meeting weight. It told me that since I loaded my first weight I have lost 0.6pounds.Its made me feel so good about myself coz it was only a few days and I was just sort of practicing. I am a bit worried about eating enough though. Last night I had 4 points to bank and today I still have 9 available.0

thanks for keeping the thread going. its good to read how everyone else is feeling about ww - I think we all have little ups and downs with it and i feel quite low when I feel the weight is not coming off but have times when i am so pleased with myself and they keep me going! My boss asked me if I'd lost weight last night at the work christmas party and it was so nice to be able to say YES!
My weigh in is tomorrow morning (I do ww online), and having mis-behaved at the christmas party I am just hoping for a one pound loss please!! Fingers crossed I did enough healthy eating in the week to cancel out thursday night's wine! good luck everyone!fran-o0
