well done so here we are, i think you will find ww easier to stick to, and when you do reach your target weight you will find it easier to maintain, i believe diets that are based around shakes and soups are doomed to failure, when you return to eating a normal diet, and i agree focus it is better to loose weight slowly, it can be frustrating i know but worth the effort hope everyone has a good weekendITV comp winner no 410

Hi everyone! Went to my first meeting yesterday and I'm feeling really positive about it all! It's the first time I've tried to diet (getting married in 8 months). Currently 12st 5lb (bit of a shock after my stupid wii fit kept telling me I was 11st 7lb!) and looking to lose at least a stone, if possible 2.
I chose weightwatchers because I've got friends who've done amazingly well on it and it seems like a sensible (and sustainable!) way to lose weight.
The only thing that worries me is that I'm not sure that I consume as much as 21 points in a normal day anyway - calculating what I had yesterday before I started this came to about 16, and I go to the gym & swim although not as regularly as I am hoping to... so how is it going to work?! Maybe once I start writing everything down I'll be surprised , but today I've not done anything special and have 13 points left!
Edit: So far today I've had
Porridge made with 30g oats and a small banana, plus a tablespoon of honey (3 points)
A small (40g dried) portion of pasta with 70g tuna and 1 tbsp mayo and extra veg (4 points)
Weightwatchers yoghurt (I used to get these whenever they were on special because I really liked them, now I have an excuse to buy them whenever!) 1 point
Dinner is going to be Veg stir fry with king prawns - which is amazingly only half a point and is my favourite dinner but one that I can only have when my fiance isn't in as he doesn't like fish. Usually just have it as is, but may have rice with it too! SO that's another 1.5 points.
Might have a cheeky glass of vino as well, which makes another 2 points. Speaking of which - has anyone tried the weightwatchers wine? Is it worth it (think it works out about half the points of normal wine) or is it grim?!0 -

I had put on this morning at my 'extra' weigh in, boo! I have been a little naughty this week but not enough to have put on I don't think, I am feeling quite bloated and with stomach ache so might all even out by Monday if I am careful this weekend not to eat anything bad. Have my parents coming though and am going out for an indian meal tomorrow night, will have a non-creamy curry but still, might be an issue with the old calories... any recommendations on dishes?God is good, all the time

Hello everyone
Im a career dieterand had enough! I currently weigh 90kg's, which I think is about 14 stone. Been reading the thread as Im thinking WW might work for me. Ive done the "sensible eating" thing which always gets boring because I think Im the kind of person who needs my hand held:o. I did sureslim years ago where I lost 18kgs but I never got the chance to learn how to plan for myself (too much hand holding?)-so Im off to the ww website to see what I can find.

90kg is 14stone 2 and 1/2 pounds.
WW works, you will soon work out how to get more food for your points by choosing lower fat versions, and by filling up on veggies to stop you going hungry.
I'm doing it online as I can't always get to a class.
Good Luck.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
