    Hi Melissa

What did you have to eat today? The WW chocolate things are only 1 point each for some of the items. The ones I have tried arent the best things in the world but they are passable, especially if you have a chocolate craving. Perhaps you could have something like that and then pay for it in extra activity points.

I guess its down to your will power and how miserable its going to make you. If it will bother you all evening, making you unhappy and then you crack anyway raiding the Christmas chocolates then its surely better to go for a small treat. Similar for it it really is making you that moody that you fall out with your family.

if craving chocolate, i tend to have a cup of hot chocolate, as it satisfies the craving enough, to last me til my next proper meal time

or if really needing something sweet, i eat a pink and white (or two) - yes, they have the texture of cardboard, but they are sooo sweet, i usually cant stomach more than a few at a time, and it just about gets me over the craving

however if you are craving, rather than just fancying chocolate, then there is something going on with your blood sugar levels that is making your body desperate for that quick sugar hit. if its happening alot, i would def go see my GP and have a test for diabetes. if that turns nothing up, then i would work more carbohydrates into my diet, as they give slow release of sugars, and you shouldnt get so many ups and downs

cravings are not usually based on what you like to eat, they are usually centered around what nutrients your body needs/is lacking

  • Excellent advice flea!

I think that the options orange hot chocolate sachets are great and they are only 1/2 a point each, mmmm...

Evening all, still going strong =D am loving ww this time around, dont know why i ever stopped doing it lol

anyway ive been stocking up on lots of ww things to test which ones i like.

Really interested in the ww soups because seems most are about 1-1.5 pts  My lunches are normally a sandwich which is 5pts so the idea of having a low point lunch once in a while is nice. Anyone tried any of the soups and which one do you prefer?

Speaking of chocolate, i brought some ww belgian chocolate slices, 1.5pt each and taste alil like choc brownie =D well a healthier version. Very nice and definitely helped me not miss real chocolate x

I LOVE the butternut squash and red pepper soup which is in the welcome pack booklet, it is point free so you can have it with some bread if you want to have something to dunk or it is nice if you chuck in some other veggies when you are reheating it to eat, particularly nice with chopped peppers :)

  • Thanks for your help and advice everyone, I dont really want to buy in WW treats as I usually eat them all in one sitting if I know theyre there! I was thinking of buying a mulitpack bag of something like snack size Milkyways as theyre only approx 70 cals but Id probably scoff all of them too!!! Im thinking maybe treat myself twice a week to a normal size chocolate bar/maltesers bought from the shop one at a time, and maybe that will help because Ill feel satisfied after having a decent amount of chocolate and then theres no more in the house for me to eat! x
  • Hi and Good Afternoon,

Little Introduction: It may seem that I have been trying to lose weight on and off for about 2 years now. I have tried (in a whispered voice) Slimming world, going to meetings and most resently going it alone. I have also tried lighter Life Lite, both of which I have gotten fed up with/lost interest or just decided life is too short.

Well I have been getting more and more fed up with myself for a while now, always saying i'm on a diet and then not bothering or having no will power. So I have been talking to a friend of mine who has lost 5st in 8months on WW, and well on Wednesday this week I went to my first ever meeting. Had my weighin and i'm 11st and I am going to lose 2st.
My first target is 5% which is 10st 6.

So yesterday was day 1 and my menu was as follow:
    Breakfast:
    30g Bran 1.5pts
    1 medium Apple 0.5pts
    Lunch:
    2 slices Parma Ham 1.5pts
    Salad 0pts
    Dinner:
WW Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni 5.5pts
    Salad 0pts
    Snacks:
    S. Milk 2pts, for breakfast and tea throughout the day
    WW snack bar 1.5pts
    WW crisps 1.5pt
9 melba toasts (for the pub) 1.5pt
    Mushroom/Broc/ 40g Pasta/ half tbst light mayo 2.5pts

Total Pts Used: 18 Pts Saved: 1

Will post menu for today a bit later.

Sorry for the long post and wish me luck :D

Good Luck So =) i think we just have to take it each day at a time, each point at a time. Look at me pretending to sound wise lol when ive only been doing it 3 days. Ive done ww before though and my problem is that i was impatient for the weight to come off. =( if i dont try and rush it and be happy with every half a lb, or lb then eventually we will get there. I mean even if it takes ages to lose a st its better than gaining a stone. =) Am trying the positive approach this time. Post often, we are all here to support one another x
