i've bought some spinach and was wondering if anyone had any recipes for it? and can the recipe be frozen?

I'm wondering about this too...I love spinach and with all the iron and folic acid I should be eating it more often but don't know what to cook with it...

  • morning, I dont know if any of you will be able to help, I have a friend coming for lunch, she is on WW and has 10 points for lunch, but it is so long since i have followed it i have forgotten what you can have for 10 points.

    i have the following ingredients

    large baking potaotes
    sweet potato
    chorizo
    bacon
    cold chicken
    ham
    eggs
    tuna
a little salad but not much and its a bit manky
    mince
    baked beans
    tinned toms
    celery/ broccoli/ peas/ carrots/ swede/ parsnip/ onion
    pasta
    rice
    noodles
    risotto rice
    baked beans, spaghetti, etc
plus lots of spices/ herbs/ flour, etc

any ideas what would make a nice tasty lunch within point values?
i'm thinking i could make wedges with the potatoes (oven baked, about of oil) a teaspoon of oil) with maybe a chicken chilli?

so how would that work out? 1 large potato, 2oz chicken each, 1 large tin beans and a squirt of ketchup (plus free stuff, toms, herbs, etc).

then i could make some gaucamole, how much are avocados?
  • Charliee, I would max out on the free stuff, and make a big bowl of chilli with the tomatoes and other veggies and then have some rice with it, I would avoid the avocado like the plague as one avocado is 6 points :) but a potato would be about 2.5, the sweet potato is 2, if you did mixed wedgest with the two of them that might be nice instead of rice.
10 is a lot of points really for a lunch so I wouldn't worry too much about it :)

Ooh that sounds a good idea Sian!! Agree 10 points is a lot so I wouldn't worry - I allow half that for mine.

Mmmmm chilli and wedges....can I come too Charliee??
Really should be doing some work...
  • Just gone back to WW after a two year break (originally lost 2 and a half stone on it) cause although I've only put on maybe half a stone, something needs to change cause I need to keep my portion control in check.

It's day one! I've planned out my eating for today and have 8 points left for snacks. Not bad going really.
  • Heya All

Went for an italian for my birthday last night. Need some help with the points though. I had some garlic tomato bread (no cheese) was flat and the size of a small dinner plate - I ate all but two slices.

Then a calzone with mushroom, ham, onion, mozarella was massive but only ate half if that. Have no idea what to point it. Wasnt very saucey though. On here it says 17.5 in the restaurant calzone....hmmm....can anyone help?

I think you should say you went over your points and start afresh today :)
The real question is- did you have a lovely day :D

  • Hi All!!

Another WW newbie here!! :hello:I've been trawling through all the other pages first before posting and have picked up on some wicked tips! Thanks!!

I did WW for a short while a couple of years back, and to save myself some money I've decided to reuse my old books, so have been reading the whole thing from front to back. I'm finding it a lot easier this time round, because 4 of my close colleagues are all on WW so we're all pointing our meals together daily and discussing recipes etc.

My points allowance is 20 per day, it's tough but I'm managing to stick to it!! :) My OH is pointing all his food too - but he has an allowance of 33, which has really made me realise how I need to make sure I have teeny tiny portion sizes compared to him, and how this was probably my slip up to begin with!
