A WW dessert pot is hardly a treat - its like 2 points or something!

1lb should never be classed as 'only' - WW is designed for a weightloss of 1-2lbs per week max but, Melissa, if you're still doing what you said you were doing when you first joined our merry band (special K and a ready meal every day) then you're not following WW anyway. Seriously - work out how many points you're actually eating a day compared to what you should be eating..do some research and you'll understand exactly why you've 'only' lost a pound this week.
Really should be doing some work...

Only 1lb off for me this week, thats the worst Ive done so far! Very dissapointed Ive been sooo good this week too, ooops sorry - treated myself on Saturday to a WW dessert pot (150 cals).. Won't be doing that next week!

agree with puddings make sure you are eating your points allowance - you really wont feel a benefit if your body goes into starvation mode from not getting enough food.

Hi Melissa, I have to agree here with Puddings...of course we all want to lose as much as we can each week but we should only lose between 1 and 2 pounds this is what ww means we should lose. Sometimes you can lose 3 a week if you do a decent amount of exercise also. But between one and two is what is considered healthy. I have done what you seem to be doing before I used to eat a tiny bowl of bran flakes for breakfast and lunch - no milk on either and then a tiny dinner. Maximum calories a day about 700 and you know what I lost loads of weight really quickly. Last May I was at my smallest ever - 7stone 8 and yes for my height of 5 ft 2 that isnt too bad but the way I got there meant as soon as I started eating again I went back to my bad habits as I hadnt learnt new ones! This time I am sticking to my allowance, some days I go over, some I save points for my wine at the weekend but this time it will be manageable I will be able to continue it once I finally reach target again, which this time I dont think I will even lose as much maybe 8 and a half instead as people have said I went to small. I am a great believer now in the fact that if you have battled with your weight you will forever, and that you always will need to keep an eye, and I am also of the opinion if you have had a eating disorder whether mild or not, you always will and you need to keep an extra eye on what your doing. Perhaps we could all post some daily menus for the next few days to show Melissa just how much you can have and still lose?

Weigh in for me tomorrow - nervous as I drank too much at the weekend and can not even remember what I ate whilst drunk - I had drunk that much ooops

Thanks everyone for the advice and especially Cheeky :) I will eat healthy when I have gotten down to my target weight, its just really tricky as I work from 10am untill 7:30pm everyday and a WW meal is a handy option! I do appreciate your advice though, and keep meaning to begin to eat dinner, even if its only soup, and I do sometimes have veg/salad with the WW meals. Its just that only losing 1lb has made me panick a bit about eating the extra soup for dinner! But like I said thanks anyway and I am trying to change, recipes would be really handy, especially if you possibly post the amount of cals in each meal? Thankyou :) P.S: Also had the problem of drinking too much at the weekend and couldnt remember how much! Oops!

Also ewanted to say between may last year and now I put the 5 stone I originally lost back on! I am so ashamed to say that but I really think this time will be the last as my eating habits are being changed this time! Instead of my cycle of starving myself last time with periods of binging

  • Hi Melissa, I know that you are impatient to lose the weight but would be good for it to be healthy now. What is it about your job that means you can't eat at lunchtime? I know that there are employment laws entitling you to breaks if you work a certain number of hours so it is illegal for you to get no break.

If you are really preoccupied with calories you are also not taking on board the WW ethos which I think is all about reeducating yourself not depriving yourself, it needs to be sustainable now.

If you can max out your 'free' stuff you will feel better and be healthier. So, if you made a load of butternut squash and red pepper soup that would be no points and you could take it to work in a flask and drink it from there, soup is really filling too. With the ready meals, they can be handy but you could always batch cook some meals and then freeze them in portions, like lasagne etc. A great way of filling up is also to have a stir fry or some other veggies alongside it, so butternut squash chips made with frylight or some carrot sticks, or a salad with a zero point dressing. (another benefit of all these veggies is that your digestive system moves at a much more healthy rate, he he, and you don't feel as bloated or sluggish)

    Today I have had

Breakfast- 2 crumpets with a tsp of butter, cup of coffee

    Snack- Pink n whites

Lunch- Salad- chopped tomato, beetroot, cucumber and apple with a slice of ham and low fat salad cream, mmmm.
    Rich toffee bar

Snack- was a little naughty here and had some carrot cake someone had brought in, was really nice though!
Had some fruities on my way home too

Dinner- Salmon tikka with a mini naan and raita (cooked this at my Ministry of food class, ridiculously easy!)

Snack- Fresh coffee with frothy (skimmed!) milk

So, quite a lot of food but apart from the cake I think I have done pretty well today and still within my points :)

My best tips so far are pink n white wafers (1/2 a point for one), sugar free jellies (0 points), frylight spray (0 points and great for cooking things in), butternut squash soup (0 points and really delish) and fruities (1/2 a point but last for ages, if only they were cheaper!)

    :)

  • This has some good advice on minimum calorie allowances, but again, if you want to do weightwatchers, do weightwatchers, work out your points and make the most of them :)
