  • Hiyas, I joined WW on Thursday (35.5lbs to lose - eek) and did really well on Friday. I blew it yesterday because we had a BBQ and I - as usual - catered for far too many! So although the meat has all gone in the freezer, I am left in the fridge some of the Morrisons ready made salads such as Potato & onion, Spicy Chicken Pasta and Ham and Cheese Pasta. I hate throwing food away and they were quite expensive too. Do you think they will be alright to freeze?

i am not sure, especially with freezing pre prepaired food, there is a risk of food poisoning if it shouldnt be frozen then de frosted

dont worry about how much you have to loose, keep it up and stick to it it will come off, i have so far lost 37lbs in 17 weeks

are you doing points or core??

Wanted to say hello. I want to join ww but not sure whether to do it online or go to a meeting. Which would you recommend?

i would personally recommend the meetings as you have face to face support from the leader, and also from other members, plus they have discussions on foods, nutrician and a chat about day to day life, shopping tips, recipe tips etc etc. you also have the added factor of the weigh in, as at a meeting i find i am more inclined to try harder than i would do if i was going it alone and doing it on line.

i would suggest you get a free registration voucher, (often printed n various news papers, the ww magazine and on the ww site) and go for a meeting and give it a go for a couple of weeks, if you dont like it you could always sign up on line, or after a few weeks of meetings you have the starter packs any way (they give out a bit each week for a few weeks) so you could just use them

if you do decide to go to meetings, you can also buy a monthly pass for 17.95 a month, which means it is cheaper per week than paying the 5.50meeting fee (works out at 4.14 per week on the monthly plan) and you also get free escource (which is usually £6.99 a month) which gives you online facilities such as an online points tracker, activity tracker, receipes, weight tracker, points calculators etc etc

dont for get also when you get to your "goal" weight (aka gold membership) you no longer pay for the meeting fees

one thing i would really recommend that people do if they join ww is to try and get out of the mind set that its a diet, and veiw it as a lifestyle change, as it is easier to stick to and follow long term if you look at it from that way

no problem, make sure you let us know how you get on, and dont forget there are different leaders, so if you arent keen on that meeting there may be another one near you that you may want to try.

also take a look at the ww site message board as that is really helpful as well

    http://www.weightwatchers.co.uk/community/mbd/index.aspx

and this unofficial site is good for ww information as well, especally the points plans http://www.fr eewebs.com/noreenblackett/pointsquiz.htm

  • Hmmm....does anyone have any ideas how much this Smoothie would have been, points wise? It was from a stall called Zumo (which I believe is a franchise) and is 400mls, and was "very berry" so had lots of berries in it, and it was made with a frozen yoghurt? Any ideas??

I've had a quick look on Zumo's website and the only one I can find that sounds similar is 'Zumo Berry'. Put the nutritional values through the WW calculator and it's coming out at 3.5 points.

    Hope that helps
