hey all, wow well done jak! i have a feeling i've lost nowhere near as much in my first week. i've been counting and gone over by about 5 points overall (argh), which i have 'clawed back' with exercise! (i love that phrase!)

i'm missing my WI which would have been tonight (can't remember if i said already) cos i'm at my mum's this week. but i'll do my own unofficial WI tonight!

bit of inspiration for you all- my brother, who is 24, has lost 3 stone since i last saw him in early july!!! he was 17 stone and is now 14 stone and still losing. i was v impressed- he looks so different- and asked how he's managed it. he said, (speaking in a "i'm going to explain this very slowly as though you're a little bit thick" tone of voice,) "instead of eating sweets and crisps and pastries, i now eat fruit and vegetables.... *picks up an apple and takes a bite* see how that works?"

humph! it has inspired me to stay on track though. although he does have my calorie-counting mum making his dinners for him! lucky b*gger.

  • Well done Jak!!

That's great about your brother Kay1987.

I did an unofficial weigh in and my scales tell me I've lost 2lbs! Delighted with this but I don't know if I can trust it. Do any of you find your home scales give you a different result from the WW scales?

    Hey well done Peeps!!

Princess my scales at home (they are useless whirly ones so I don't know why I bother) are about 4lbs different so I have just changed them to be the same as the WW ones. I can't really tell what I am on them though cos they move!

Well my gum is so sore today from being manhandled that I am eating a bowl of nice soft tinned pears. I did sadly have a massive bowl of custard last night (about 15 points!!!!) cos I was hungry and its all I had that didnt require chewing. I was feeling a tad sorry for myself so I ate the lot.

Katy, I can't believe your brothers lost so much! Am impressed and jealous that he appears to have done it so easily..!

Supposed to be going to the Harvester today for a colleagues birthday but I don't know if I can eat! Might have to go invest in some bonjela.

A down in the dumps Puds x

I know- he's extremely smug about it! I'm jealous too. But it does give me hope that I'm not just from a 'big family'. :o

My unofficial weigh in suggests that I've lost 1lb. Hopefully my mum's scales are 'mean' as I remember them but hey, a loss is a loss, right?

Had some ben & jerrys phish food frozen yogurt after my 'weigh in' last night... *nom nom nom* managed to get through about half the tub! maybe this is indicative of why i have only lost 1lb, huh. :D

just read back- poor puds! maybe some nice frozen yogurt wouldn't go amiss in your situation either? :P
  • Oh no poor you Puds, I had fillings done a few months ago so I share your pain. Better eating custard than chewing your cheek and lip like I did owwwww :(

Katy1987 well done!! A loss is a loss for sure :D

We're having a leaving lunch here today. One of the girls is going on maternity leave so we're off to the Chinese. The choice of restaurant is for my benefit as I can't eat dairy or olives so I can't not go now!! I don't have any spare points and I really can't be bothered to go. This is really terrible to admit, but sometimes I feel I'd rather be unsociable than booger up my diet :$

Poor Puds, hope your feeling better soon. You should send someone to do some shopping for you, The shape fuller for longer yogurts do exactly what they say on the tin, thats what I have before I go to work so I dont have to take anything in to eat as I only do 5 hours, keeps me full, also saves you having to eat too much so as not to upset the gums.

  • Hi everyone! How are you all getting on? I'm in my PJs, not feeling great today, TOTM. Just want to comfort eat! However, just back from gorgeous jewellery shop in Eyemouth to get lovely presents for my friend's 30th. It was worth the 3-hour round trip lol, we got her some great stuff. (Also got myself a gorgeous necklace which I can't afford or justify but it's just so lovely!)

Must resist... Especially as OH was v keen to make me a pizza for dinner last night which was very welcome after a few drinks in the pub. He assured me he'd pointed the recipe and it was only 2 points for half a pizza. I was delighted, the cheeseless pizza we had was gorgeous and I was stuffed afterwards. I then checked the recipe he used online. Turns out, a 'portion' as advertised on the recipe (which he used to calculate points) was 1/15th of the recipe! I mean, the pizza was 2 people-sized so I can see why he got confused lol. Who thinks 1/15th of a pizza is a portion? Get real. But I'm now 10 points over for the week.

Just want wine... no points for wine... sigh.

    Morning All!

Sorry for the late reply - my mate's borrowed my laptop! Thank you all so much for your sympathy over my tooth! Well, I have an emergency appointment this afternoon cos some sort of very sore lump has appeared next to the tooth where I had the filling and I'm not impressed! Bonjela is taking the edge off it but ow ow ow!!!

Sue, do these fuller for longer yogurts have bits/lumps in? I'm really funny but they gotta be smooooooooth, completely and utterly smooth! If they are then I'm gonna get some.

Oh me too - I've turned down things this week as I've planned my food and must be good before Nanna fills me up at the weekend!

TOTM sucks! And it must be some wierd pizza hater that thinks 1/15th is a portion! Good lord, the whole thing is my type of portion :D

I hope you all had great weekends, I got half a pound off even with all that custard and ice cream - oh and that Phish Food is one of my faves and I presume the frozen yogurt version is 'lighter'? I'm gonna look out for it.

    Right, better do some work!
