    Oh never tried them.

I will give them a go. I tried making my own chips from potato before but I dont think I did them right.

How do you do them? X

Right, well as I live on BNS chips (low point dinner so i can have more PUDDING!) here's what I do...

Peel it (apparantly you dont have to though and can eat the skin but I peel)

Then slice it. I have mastered this by chopping off top and bottom then slicing in half lengthways.

Then scoop out seeds and gunky bit with a spoon.

And then slice into chip shapes. The curved bit i find hard to cut and I often end up with 'interesting' shaped chips.

Then I frylight a baking tray, spread out the chips and bung in the oven on about 200 for 30-40 mins depending on how fat the chips are. Sometimes I'll flavour with herbs or salt and pepper or chilli flakes before popping in the oven.

They dont really go crispy, I just wait till they are cooked through, quite soft. Then lump them onto a plate and sprinkle with salt if not alread seasoned!

    I have with 2-3 fishfingers :p

I hope that makes sense - I am defo not a cook!!
Really should be doing some work...
  • Gosh, I really need to get back into ww. I did it properly after DD was born and it really worked, (although I was allowed loads of points as I was breastfeeding so it was pretty easy). 5 years on and now I'm 2 stone heavier and not at all happy about the way I look.

Do you all do the points thing or does anyone do the other system? (Total choice or something, I think it was called?)
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!

No probs, Penky! I'll be indulging in some tonight..as always!

Hi allicouldwishfor, I *think* we are all points here. The other option if I remember correctly is Simply Filling now. I like points - I HAVE to stop eating eventually!!

I know what you mean - I tried the other system once and put on two pounds in a week!

Reading through this thread, everyone has done so well - you've inspired me to take myself in hand!

If I can do it as a boredom/comfort/chocolate eater who MUST have pudding after lunch AND dinner then you can too! I often wibble away on here about something or other and it generally keeps my mind and hands busy when I'm a-craving :-) x

Welcome to the thread allIcouldwishfor and gilly41.

You've come to the right place for support. I dont stay to my meetings as most of the time I have to much to do so I find this thread really helps me stay on track. Somtimes you just need to get something regarding dieting off your chest and it's great on here because others understand all the emotions around dieting. I usually check on here at work before I start and sometimes on my lunch break if I'm at my desk!

I dont know if I have mentioned it before I wuld reccommend Davina McCalls Super Body Workout DVD. I am getting quite obsessed with it now. I've done it 3 nights in a row and I can feel the ache in my thighs today which is great cause I know it must have done something! I've also got Claire from Steps one but the moves look a bit complicated and I can see myself getting confused!

Has anyone else used fitness DVD's? If so which ones and are they any good?
